Arriving at our main street, enter the Gated Community of Silverleaf. Our neighborhood is all gravel. For those not use to mountain roads, note that our roads are wider than many other mountain getaways we looked at purchasing in. Road courtesy is to allow the cars coming UP the mountain to have the ability to keep moving forward for continued momentum, so if you are coming down you pull off to the side on the nearest wide spot used for this very thing.

The cabin will be the first driveway on the right once you reach our street. The covered front porch and wrap-around deck promise true relaxation surrounded by nature and the soothing sound of a neighboring rushing creek. Numerous windows allow natural light and views of wildlife and nature from every room.

Step inside to a spacious living room with stacked stone gas fireplace – and well equipped for electronic entertainment (HDTV, 53 cable channels, DVD, and new Sound Bar.) You will also find a collection of board and card games, DVDs, kids’ books and toys in the cabin available for your use and Free WIFI.

The Rustic table for 8 in the dining room and seats for 3 at kitchen bar. Nicely appointed kitchen with all of the necessities – as well as a few fun extras like a French press for the coffee connoisseurs, a blender (smoothie or Margarita anyone?) and flip Belgian waffle maker.

Enjoy the nicely furnished "BEAR" Bedroom featuring an outstanding view of the sunrise over Rich Mountain as well as the side deck and hot tub. Serta perfect Queen bed. Extra blankets and pillows in each closet for cuddling near the fireplace, on the deck or just for extra cozy on those cold winter nights. The "Moose" bedroom also boasts second new Serta Perfect. A linen closet with extra sheets and towels, a stacked washer and dryer to allow you to pack lighter so you have more time for fun.... Let the clothes wash and dry at our place while you are out hiking around the cabin!

During the warmer months we love to eat all meals on the deck. Patio umbrella under the bedroom on the left. Enjoy a sit in the rocking chairs on the front and others on the side at the table. During Winter, grab a hot chocolate or cider and cozy up to the gas fireplace – or step outside and luxuriate in the four-person HOT TUB! Featuring soothing jets, headrest and LED lights in multiple colors to suit your every mood. Wonderful private feel facing Rich Mountain at sunset. Especially invigorating in the cold night air, hot water bubbling and steam rising and snow falling all round....

Cabin sits on 1.24 acres, but the views stretch for miles. Hiking trails begin right at the front door to Rich Mountain and surrounding area.

Also available are: skiing, snow tubing, kayaking, river rafting, fishing, and restaurants. The smaller Valley Grocery is 5 minutes away – a larger Food Lion grocery store is 13 minutes away in Mountain city or Ingles Grocery is 15 minutes and Publix 23 minutes away. Visit Boone, Banner Elk, Vilas, and Todd for restaurants and shopping. Find our personal favorite local attractions in the Welcome Book.

Found this wonderful place north of Boone after the place we usually stayed burned. This place was great. Quiet, peaceful, and great views. Easy access to the surrounding area.

We loved everything about this cabin. Theresa was so helpful and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The views were wonderful and the cabin was just what we needed. The cabin is secluded and quiet but a short drive to anything you need. We enjoyed the hot tub looking out to the mountain, using the grill, going up to the bald, and sitting on the porch taking in the nature. I would recommend this stay to anyone who wants a nice getaway away from the hustle and bustle. We will definitely plan to stay again!!

This place is beautiful! It’s so peaceful…the deck was my favorite spot. I spent every evening listening to the owls hooting and the birds singing. The management is awesome as well, very communicative and helpful! I’m already looking forward to my next stay there!

Great spot! Lovely deck for looking up at the next mountain over. Convenient to Boone and Banner Elk areas so lots of dining options as well as hiking, tubing etc. Drive up the mountain is a bit steep and long, would be pretty tricky in the winter without 4WD. We had a great time.

This is the 2nd time we’ve stayed here. But it seems like home. So relaxing and comfortable. Wonderful view of Rich Mountain. Just can’t say enough good things about this place.

10/10

Stayed here with my two Doodles while working 12+ hour days post Helene. Being able to start and end the day in house vs a hotel room makes the long days much easier. It was an absolute luxury to have a full kitchen AND a washer and dryer. The property was as described. The host was wonderful! Exceeded all expectations. Would love to come back one day when I can enjoy my coffee on the expansive patio and take a dip in the hot tub. NOTE: the 4-wheel drive part of the listing is no joke. The roads are nice and well maintained but the last couple of turns are pretty steep. This is where 4WD comes in handy.

Our stay in your cabin was great. We enjoyed the amazing view especially at night from the Hot Tub. My fiance and brother in law both went to Appalachian State so we spent a good portion of Saturday of venturing around Boone and letting them talk about old times. That is a very nice campus that has a lot of neat places. I would definitely recommend Rich Summit View to other people looking for a relaxing stay and awesome view. I will definitely be coming back to visit.

We loved our stay at Rich Summit! The homeowner had provided everything we needed for a wonderful vacation in the mountains... Wifi, gas logs fireplace for perfect ambiance, hot tub overlooking the view of the mountains, gas grill - we cooked out one night, and comfortable beds. We rambled through downtown Boone, but mostly stayed in at the cabin. Everything was clean and we can't say enough good things. We'll definitely be back!

The cabin is delightful. It is located in a gated community perched high on top with beautiful views. It would be easy to just stay on the balcony all day & sip tea(or wine if you prefer). The VRBO representation is spot on. Yes, anyone who has never experienced mountain roads before is going to be surprised but, in actuality they are prevalent throughout the High Country. The owner is exceptionally helpful & communicative. The location makes so many opportunities accessible..hiking..fishing..day trips...shopping..even TN since you 10 miles from the state line between NC & TN. I would give this property more than excellent if I could!!!!

Lovely stay - didn't want to leave - cabin was the perfect size for our family of 3 and our dog. Deck and hot tub had a lovely view - well stocked - Trek up to the cabin was a little scary at first (glad i have an AWD sport utility) but we got used to it as time went on. Cabin is on a mountain/neighborhood with gate access only so that was a plus. While there we were blessed with lovely weather and took a trek up to the top of the mountain with our dog and went tubing on the New River (highly recommend) - Relaxing trip - would definitely recommend - Thank you!
