Learn more about Dundee

Nestled in the rolling hills of KwaZulu-Natal, this historic battleground town offers fascinating Anglo-Zulu War museums and monuments throughout the Battlefield Route. Outdoor enthusiasts can fish at Tayside Dam or explore nearby Talana Nature Reserve's hiking trails with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside.

This is a large site commemorating the battle fought between 470 Pioneers and an estimated 15,000 - 21.000 Zulu attackers on the bank of the Ncome River on December 16 1838 in what is today KwaZulu-Natal , South Africa . While the Blood River Memorial is associated with Afrikaner nationalism the Ncome monument that commemorates the fallen Zulu warriors across the river from here was intended as a symbol of reconciliation but has become connected with Zulu nationalism . An impressive site that is !
