"The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and had a wonderful view of the river. Breakfast was not free, but was reasonably priced and the variety of food was good. There was plenty of free parking across the street by the river. We enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to stay there again. "

"The location is excellent. We arrived early evening so parked for free on road outside by the castle. Next morning, 9am, we paid we paid €10 for 6hrs at the meter. Reception guy was friendly and helpful. Suggested places to eat and areas to explore. Hotel is not modern or spacious, but has character and a nice change from the usual chain hotels."

"This is an excellent choice for seeing Saumur. It is in an old building with a lot of character. My room was large, with wooden beamed ceiling, tall windows that opened, and a limestone fireplace I wish I had in my home. Ensuite had shower and had plenty of space. Bed was comfortable. "A good no nonsense place to stay. It has all the necessities you need and a huge amount of choice for breakfast. The gardens around the property are nice and the pool would be a real bonus in the summer. The staff are friendly and the propietor spoke excellent English and was a really helpfull nice chap. I was very glad I found this and would stay again if in the area. I didnt know how to rate the Eco freindlyness as i dont know that, so a mid 3stars. "
