"The hospitality (service and meals) at Shiganoyu Hotel were amazing. While we did not speak Japanese and the staff did not speak English, they used a translation tool for conversation and didn't let that be a barrier. It was so comfortable for our family of 5 - very homey and welcoming. The tea and treat upon check-in was a nice surprise and delicious. The onsen was a relaxing bonus! "The building is old and everything is a little cramped. But the great thing are the hotel owners and staff. The lady is very accommodating and friendly and she did her best to accommodate our requests. The building is so near the mountain so we don't have to pay for additional parking and just walk from the hotel. We'd love to return there again for next New Year's skiing!"
