"We loved the Ecolodge de Simal. It's really off the beaten track (quite literally so), but once you get there, the location is wonderful: right on the water. We were there for three nights. The food was plentiful, fresh, and tasty; the free activities (like a excursion en pirogue) was wonderful; the pool is chlorinated and clean; the rooms are rustic with open air bathrooms and toilets, but comfortable; the housekeeping good; the bar/restaurant staff friendly. It's not a "luxury"...

"Great space! Very clean and very great location. Gabriel was incredibly helpful with getting us a guide for a tour, Charles, who was also great! Hotel staff was helpful in showing us places to go in the area to eat/explore. Staff very friendly and willing to help with solving any problems with transportation, etc that arrived during our stay. Amazing location and staff all around!"

The food was plentiful, fresh, and tasty; the free activities (like a excursion en pirogue) was wonderful; the pool is chlorinated and clean; the rooms are rustic with open air bathrooms and toilets, but comfortable; the housekeeping good; the bar/restaurant staff friendly. It's not a "luxury" resort--there's no wifi or AC-but for the average traveler who wants to feel comfortable and relax, and who is interested in not seeing the "same old" Senegal, this place is for you! I would return again without hesitation. While you're there: take a day trip to Fadiouth and the amazing Musee Mich"
