Learn more about Agumbe

Known as the 'Cherrapunji of the South,' Agumbe's rainforest research station offers guided walks to spot king cobras and rare frogs. Trek to Barkana Falls or Onake Abbi Falls in the Western Ghats, then visit the sunset viewpoint where the TV show 'Malgudi Days' was filmed.

A million star hotel with a custom shower...

Once a bubbly town during the British era, the village of Agumbe is now almost abandoned with a population of around 500. It rests along the western coastal region of south India and receives one of the highest amount of rainfall anywhere in the world. One does wonder... would these be happening if the village had become a town?!!!!!.... This pic was taken near one of the many waterfalls in and around the area. The overhanging tree roots channel the water down for a cool refreshing shower..#Once a bubbly town during the British era, the village of Agumbe is now almost abandoned with a population of around 500.
