"Right choice for back pack travelers but not advised for family stay. Small but clean rooms, easy check-in/check-out, shared kitchen an shared bathrooms. Overall good for price."

"Shaka Caye is a hidden gem; if you want to have a non-chaotic, very personalized vacation where the staff treat you like you are the only person on the island, Shaka Caye is the perfect location. The staff know you by name, the rooms are kept very clean, the food was absolutely amazing (I will say that the food might have been my favorite part of the trip!), and you have a beach almost to yourself. "Airport shuttle was not arranged. They asked me to whatsapp somebody but they never responded. However the stay was good. Big supermarkets either side and some restaurants walkable. Can walk to town centre. My tour to Altun Ha never arrived so Janny at the front desk called around and managed to book a tour last minute. Next day my Lamanai tour was late and she called to tour company for update. Janny was very helpful talking tour operators after the first one cancelled. Breakfast varies per day...

"The location was good, the room was clean and modern, the bathroom was excellent and, because we chose an ocean view room we had wonderful breezes. My only complaint was that the sheets and bedspread were polyester. Which means, even though the room was cool, we were still bathed with sweat. On our second night we requested a cotton blanket instead of the polyester bedspread and we slept very well."

This is a recently remodeled 150 year old house with incredibly gracious host, comfortable rooms, and a short walk to historical sites, this is your spot. The room and house were very clean, the amenities were all as listed. "
