"It was no contact with the staff after 6pm, I texted the staff around 5:40pm because there was no coffee at all in the room, but she never responded, so we left early next morning. $425 a day for that small bungalow room without any service was how much very expensive. When we arrived around 4:30pm and we were waiting with another couple to check in but there was no staff in the check-in area."

"This place was our stopover after a full day and evening at the park. It was about 10 minutes away from inside the park. House was cozy, heated pads on the bed were a nice touch after the cold fog all day. I especially loved the welcome cat on the property and the black chicken who perched on our railing to sleep for the night. All the animals were friendly which is a testiment to their loving environment. "

"Nice rustic place. We normally stay in 4 and 5 * hotels and this was not that but it was a cool little spot for what the town is. It’s remote with not a lot of choices. The room was clean and if we can’t get a room in the park again when we’re there next, we will try to stay here again. "

Major concern: No window coverings for the floor-to-ceiling bathtub window or windows above the bed and coffee bar, resulting in serious privacy issues while bathing and sleeping. This was very uncomfortable. Remote location (45 minutes from Hilo); a car is required. No cellphone reception. No nearby restaurants or shops. Towels were not very clean, and there is no AC"
