"We loved staying here! It’s secluded, intimate, and just picture-perfect. Abner was a great host and responded to small hiccups we experienced throughout the stay. There’s no light pollution so the stars shine bright and the howler monkeys made their presence known at night. The view in the morning is something to write home about. Cabana at the La Milpa Ecolodge and Research Station seen in the early morning fog. The lodge is in the Rio Bravo Conservation area in the Belizean rainforest near the Guatemalan and Mexican borders and attracts birders and those interested in the local wildlife and Mayan ruins. The tree on the right is a kapok or ceiba tree, which Mayans believed represented the hierarchical structure of the universe.
