"Small family owned hotel. Located in a remote location, so very peaceful and quiet. In the evening there is a nice fireplace in the lounge. Perfect for a quick pre or post dinner hangout on a chilly night. Drive to the hotel is filled with scenic views of the water, rolling hills dotted with grazing sheep! Rooms were large with modern bathroom facilities including the best towels we have experienced in a while! Undoubtedly though, the highlights of the stay were the exceptional food and...

The MacCrimmon memorial cairn The cairn sits on Boreraig Hoe above Loch Dunvegan. The inscription on it is in Gaelic. It translates (to the best of my limited ability) as: "Remembrance cairn for the Clan MacCrimmon, hereditary pipers to the Macleods for ten generations and who were famous as writers, players and teachers of bagpipe music. Close to this place was the MacCrimmon music school from 1500 to 1800 AD."
