Lovely, eclectic hotel with very nice rooms, cozy bedding, and a delicious breakfast. Definitely has German charm and a quaint, local feel compared to some of the bigger franchised hotels. The staff was also extremely nice and accommodating.

This is my 16th trip to Germany. The Torfhaus Resort rates as one of the best experiences that I have ever had. The location is perfect for hiking, biking, sightseeing or just relaxing. It is in the forest, but close to Altenau, Braunlage and other larger communities. The cottages are in excellent shape with the most modern appliances. Staff is very professional and always on duty. This is a nice hotel but like any European hotel, the rooms are small and the building structure creates odd spaces. Beds are very comfortable.

A centrally convenient location with easy inexpensive parking. The breakfast was exceptionally good with broad offerings brilliantly managed by great staff. The bedroom was large, clean with a clean bathroom, including a large walk-in shower.

A very nice hotel very different (in a very good way) in relation to the other hotels in the area. It is modern, a nice breakfast and dinner option available in the hotel and in the village are very good restaurant.
