"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Waterland. It is convenient for the airport but in a quiet spot, situated by the river. It is beautiful. We had a great private villa with a good size pool. The staff and service were excellent. In particular Raganan was brilliant and looked after us very well. Incredibly good value for money and a short Tuk Tuk ride into Negombo town. "

"Pool nice but surrounding wood area is dangerous. The beach in front was dirty. If you sit at pool side, hawkers lean in and shout at you from the beach, including a man with a performing monkey on a leash! There was no hot water when we showered before leaving for the airport in the morning, and they leave the front doors open all night, leaving the hallways and lifts filled with mozzies. Also, despite Expedia's ad at time of booking, thete was no free airport transfer. It was tha only reason...

"It is always a pleasure to stay on this lovely oasis. The rooms are clean and large. The bed is very comfortable, the bathroom clean and spacious, and the teak furniture adds an exotic touch. The breakfast spread is fabulous, with Sri Lankan, Indian and western offerings. The Sri Lankan offerings are particularly yummy! This was my fifth stay, and I’ll be sure to return. "
