Breakfast was supposed to be available at 7:30. Ours appeared at 8:15. If you have somewhere to be this is not a good choice. The breakfast was nice, homemade pancakes, French toast or biscuits and gravy.
Great stay. loved the experience. super cool place and shared a table with some locals at breakfast. would recommend to anyone traveling through iowa

upon arrival we found our room up steep stairway straight up of about 15-20 steps. due to our age and health unable to do the stairs and was unable to stay. there was no elevator nor 1st floor available rooms.
While I was unable to interact with the staff here as I arrived late and left early, I did feel at home here. I definitely appreciated the drink fridge and the well appointed rooms. I was the only person staying that night so I don't know how loud the property can be but it was very quiet when I was there. I would love to stop by again if/when I am in the area again.
I had a very pleasant experience here and would stay again. Kay and Celeste were very sweet and welcoming hosts. They prepared a tasty breakfast every morning and had fresh coffee. The room was small and the building is old so every step is squeaky, but that personally made it more charming for me! Bringing a fan for noise helped with sleeping. The bed in the Notrella room was very comfortable. There is a shared common room with a tv and a shared bathroom for a few of the rooms. The bathroom and room were clean but a little dusty. There is 1 small fridge that is shared. The town of Allerton is very small. We loved the kitties!! This place isn’t for everyone, but if you like small towns and historic buildings you’ll enjoy it.
I love staying here everytime I visit the area. The ownwers are extremely flexible with late checkins and early wakeups! They always leave a wonderful breakfast sandwhich when I cannot make it for their amazing breakfasts! I look forward to my next stay!
This bed and breakfast is a true gem! Housed in a unique historic building, the inn is thoughtfully decorated to reflect the charm and character of the area’s past. If you appreciate antiques and a nostalgic atmosphere, this is the perfect place to stay.
The owners are incredibly kind and clearly dedicated to maintaining the warmth and authenticity of the inn. Their hard work and hospitality make guests feel genuinely welcome.
Located in a peaceful small town, the quiet surroundings add to the relaxing experience. The breakfast was a highlight—generous portions and absolutely delicious. A wonderful place to unwind and step back in time
Very kind innkeepers. I enjoyed all the tin ceilings, antique furniture, and artwork on the walls. Hearty breakfast was included in the price, and I was relieved that they could prepare gluten-free fare for me because I am Celiac.
