The Whittling House

"Lovely hotel in Alnmouth. Breakfast was AMAZING. Didn’t eat dinner but wish we had, it looked excellent. The room was compact but decorated to a very high standard. Shower was excellent and everything was very clean. Only reason this isn’t a 5 star review is because of the pillows on the bed. They were awful which meant we didn’t sleep very well. Also some odd design flaw in the coffee area. The kettle cord didn’t reach the socket so you had to balance it on the stool. I would stay again though, as the staff were lovely too. But next time I will ask to change the pillows."

"Good parking, clean ideally located for my needs. Downsides would be they do not do omelettes, baked beans are watered down, check out time of 10.30 is very early, room key had been deactivated before 9 am on check out day. The shower head in the bathroom was too heavy for the shower head holder and fell off a couple of times but luckily I moved in time. I am also not a fan of hotels with dogs. It is a clean, and a nice building, with good parking. I would recommend it."

"The place and people are lovely x the lodge had real character and the people were very helpful. Although you cannot walk into Alnwick we had no problem with getting an Uber into town. Beautiful area"

"The garden room is an amazing place to stay. Check in was really easy and the staff very welcoming. The room was very clean and the cleaners came in daily topping up waters, towels etc. The hot tub was always a welcoming sight after a long day exploring. Breakfast at the Joiners arms was excellent. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay such a memorable one."
