Glenmore Cottage is a traditional stone built terraced Lakeland cottage built over 100 years ago, ideally situated close to the centre of Ambleside within a short level walk of all the varied facilities the town has to offer and yet retaining a peaceful location for a relaxing holiday.



    Numerous walks from the doorstep are available, whether it’s a short stroll to Rothay Park or Lake Windermere, or a more ambitious walk into the fells are all accessible without the need of a car.



    Glenmore Cottage offers superb, comfortable accommodation for up to four guests with many modern facilities in a traditional setting. Had the most amazing get away at the cottage.

Had the most amazing get away at the cottage. Ambleside itself is a great town has shops and pubs everything you need a walk away. Also only 45 minutes (if not closer) drive from a Scafell Pike. Couldn’t recommend enough will defo be coming back !

Fantastic communication from the start Location could not be better - literally just behind the town centre where the shops restaurants pubs are plentiful House was just PERFECT - spacious warm and inviting - beds like sleeping on clouds - quiet area kitchen had everything you need - Netflix provided on TV - games room downstairs in the cellar Went with partner and two adult sons for two nights and we had the best time - could have happily stayed there two weeksWould DEF recommend to everyone

Lovely cottage tucked away in a corner of Ambleside, but right at the heart of the town. Well equipped and with plenty of space to put all your stuff, even if its wet. Just had 3 nights in Glenmore Cottage (our second visit).

Just had 3 nights in Glenmore Cottage (our second visit). The cottage was extremely clean, well equipped and comfortable. It is in a quiet area, and the parking behind the cottage is very convenient. It is only a few minutes walk from shops and other amenities. The front garden is a little restful spot to sit out when the sun shines. Ambleside was extremely busy as were many other areas of the Lake District, as people start to come away after lock down, and it was difficult at times to achieve social distancing because of the narrow pavements, small shops and busy traffic. Excellent cottage with great games room in basement. Cleaning before we arrived was excellent especially comforting in COVID times. Just a short walk in to Ambleside.
