Fantastic property in a quiet and picturesque part of Ambleside, with fantastic views. Very useful to have an easy to access parking space too. Will definitely return for another booking
The lovely view from the lounge/diner makes the property, which was very well equipped and very well located in relation to the village centre and its many restaurants and shops. Our stay was enhanced by some really exceptional weather.
The accommodation was just as described and comfortably big enough for the 4 of us. Was great to be able to walk from the house onto the fells, to the lake and to the town. Lovely views as well.
Good communication and great property, very near to Ambleside town centre, up a steep hill, but then you benefit from amazing views. We had a lovely stay, thank you
Such a comfortable place to stay, within walking distance of the many pubs and restaurants in Ambleside. And on the doorstep of so many great walks. Fantastic views and heaps of games and DVDs in case of a rainy day!
We had a fantastic stay in Ambleside, largely due to the location of this property. A 5 minute walk from the centre of town and lots of restaurants and pubs but far enough away from the centre to be private. Amazing views. A little difficult to find in the first place but once we located it, all was good! Thank you!
We loved everything about our stay in Ambleside Blue Hill Cottage. Close to local stores and very easy access to lots of hiking trails. We would love to go back in the future.
Fantastic cosy base for our short stay. Great view, feels like a world away from civilisation but less than a five minute walk to Ambleside town centre. Five minutes in the opposite direction and we were onto the fells. Our host Linda was very helpful throughout.
We had a great week, the house has masses going for it, the view is great, it’s really convenient to pop into Ambleside but far enough away so it’s quiet. The beds are comfy, the house is warm and inviting, it has pretty much everything you need to be a home away from home. Thankyou
Lovely well equipped property. An excellent location for the village of Ambleside which is a five minute walk to the centre and perfect base for walking Wainwright hills.
This is a well located cottage with a lovely view. The parking space was convenient. The house was clean ,wi fi worked and beds were comfy.
The stairs to the top floor are very steep especially with luggage and the shower had low pressure.
Overall a lovely stay.
Overall a lovely
Really good cottage only about 2 mins walk from centre of Ambleside. Had everything you need for a nice simple stay in the lakes. Great views from the front room over the hills. They’ve just had a car parking space put in which is very handy.
Great communication with owner throughout. Would definitely come back.
Had a lovely stay. Views were stunning. Cottage is pretty basic but clean and has everything you need. The walk into Ambleside is only a few minutes which is perfect for grabbing groceries or going out for a meal. The host, Linda was great and answered any questions quickly. We would return.
This was a fabulous cottage for a family. Great location with some short walks with lovely views of perfect length for two kids age 5 and 6 (Rydal caves and Grasmere being our favourite). Great access to the lake for various boat based activities and an easy walk into Ambleside for some interesting shops (the Rock shop and toy shop were particularly interesting). Cottage itself was clean and cosy and had truly stunning views. Rooms over 3 floors so the kids expended some energy going up 2 flights of stairs to bed. Some toys and books that helped entertain the kids too. Kitchen was small but fine for only 5 people (just don’t do a weeks shop in one hit!). Communication with host was easy and she responded quickly, sorting out some minor problems quickly.
We had a really lovely stay. Thank you! Only issue we had is there was nowhere to park so had to pay £18 to park car in central Ambleside and it was a walk... lucky we liked the walk! Host said there is planning permission for parking to be resolved. Beautiful views over the lake and the property itself was very comfortable and we enjoyed a game of Jenga on a rainy day so would recommend!
Ultimately the cottage seems to be a home to the owners how they like it. Cosy, practical & functional. Absolutely fine for us and accurately described - location really good & parking great for 1 vehicle we have a discovery and no problem. We took a fire stick down but you can’t link that up to the network, which was unusual- no porch for wet stuff, but you can see this from advert so again prepared for it. Anyway really enjoyed stay and would book again.
The accommodations were comfortable.
I recommend the address location be better labeled on the stone wall. The cab driver had difficulty finding Cabin 3. The stone wall hides the view of the cabin.
The laundry from the previous tenants never got picked up and the red laundry bag sat on the front stoop all week.
The outside views from the dining room window, kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms were splendid.
Wonderful getaway at a well-appointed, comfortable cottage with beautiful views
Our family, me, my wife and our two sons (aged 18 and 15) had a memorable time at the property. We were blessed with warm and dry weather, which was cheering especially since the forecasts had promised rain, and we made the most of the location, driving out to Keswick one day, Grizedale on another and going for a long car tour of the North West lakes that included the awe-inspiring Whinlatter, Hardknot and Wrynose mountain passes. But for the rest of the week we walked from the cottage and say the lovely Stockghyll waterfall, the "Champion Tree" walk in the woods to the south of Ambleside, and we climbed up Loughriff Fell, the big hill opposite the cottage which afforded lovely views of Ambleside on the descent. And Ambleside itself is such a gem. Although busy, it has a enchanting charm.
The cottage is so well appointed and so beautifully decorated, with comfortable furniture and aesthetically pleasing furnishings, it fitted our family so well.

We had just over a week in this delightful cottage very nicely situated in Ambleside: an easy walk to the town (even for those of us less mobile) but a nice, quiet location for relaxing.
The view - much mentioned by other reviews - does not disappoint! The sitting room is filled with light and is very comfortable indeed. The kitchen is well-equipped. It was perfect for our needs.
Some small things to note: water pressure is much the same as in any old property, so expect a functional experience rather than a power shower. Beds were a little firm for our taste but this is entirely subjective and may suit many others! Parking wasn't always straightforward - the neighbouring properties all seemed very busy our week so be prepared for a little bit of shuffling in busy weeks, especially if you have a larger vehicle or more than one car in your party.
These were small things much outweighed by the overall experience of a great holiday. We would definitely stay again and recommend this property..
Linda’s cottage is lovely and in a central location really close to the town and with lovely views. Having a car parking space was brilliant. The cottage itself had very thing we needed and Linda responded to messages really quickly. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
