Our room at Elder Grove was not only spotless, it was a lovely room tastefully decorated with all the amenities you could ask for and more.
A large spacious bath with excellent shower, plenty of large fluffy towels and very importantly a large daylight mirror for ease of makeup application and a hairdryer with diffuser for curly girls and boys.
Comfortable chairs in the window to watch the world go by and enjoy the views, a large screen TV on an arm for viewing from the very ample sized bed.
Tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc and biscuits, also a little gift of chocolate hearts.
I can't think of anything missing but take a bath robe if you need one.
Ethnically scourced scrumptious ingredients for breakfast, you won't go hungry, all cooked to perfection, I tried the vegetarian offering which wasn't your usual veggie sausages but so good and delicious it could turn me vegetarian, almost, smaller portions are available so you don't need to worry about wasting one precious morsel.
Non intrusive but perfectly available owners, a husband and wife team who clearly take great pride in their establishment and rightly so, thankyou we will definitely be back.
Stayed here for one night beautiful place rooms spotless all amenities supplied. Great breakfast wonderful staff. Giles on the dest was so friendly and welcoming. Thanks giles...
Close to all shops and pubs and restaurants. Will deffinatly stay here again
Beautiful place and cosy.... thankyou to you all at elder grove xx
Lovely hosts who made us feel extremely welcome. Great breakfast in terms of choice and quality. Very clean and in an excellent location - will definitely return in the future.
Hosts were excellent. B&B is well looked after with handy parking to side and rear. Room clean and comfortable. Breakfast options were absolutely fine with good quality food. Highly recommend for a few days stay in Ambleside.
This is an outstanding property in your room for very clean and updated. The staff is outstanding and a very good breakfast is very informative about the area. There’s good places to eat with 10 minute walk.

What a lovely place to stay, standards high, little touches mean everything, owners really friendly and helpful
We loved staying at the Elder Grove! Lovely room with a comfortable bed. On the main street, but outside noise never bothered us. The location makes it very walkable around Ambleside. Nice extra touches in the room like cookies and cocoa. The 'Herdy' mugs made me smile and the toilet paper has the ouline of little dogs imprinted on it.
Breakfast had a nice selection of cold items, including homemade granola which was excellent. Made to order hot items. Andrea was very warm and welcoming.
One of the best B&B's I have ever stayed, helpful, friendly with nothing too much trouble. Bed/bathroom bright, clean & modern. Unusual in B&B's there were 2 comfortable lounges and honesty bar. Breakfast was outstanding and my only negative, the parking was tight & needed care. Property close to town and lake. Gg
What a gem of a B&B. Spotless and really comfortable rooms with lovely touches.
Cracking breakfast and the most lovely of people/owners who work hard to ensure their guests have all that they need.
Great place to stay. Breakfast first class. Situated for easy access to transport. Room beautiful and comfy. No complaints whatsoever. Would highly recommend.
A small B&B but everything is done to perfection. My room had a lovely view of the mountain & church. The bed was comfy, everything was spotlessly cleaned. Breakfasts were always well-prepared and the best of what we had for our entire trip including our stay at much bigger hotels.
We had a little problem finding the parking lot the first day. I walked in and checked with Giles how to circle back. Without asking, when we drove back, Giles had already hung out in the front waiting to help us to park our car. Giles and Andrea were always busy, but they never refused to answer questions or offer help.
Thank you very much for the pleasant stay!
Another return visit and still as good as always Excellent breakfasts and comfortable clean rooms. Great location close to bars and restaurants and the main bus stand. Very friendly and helpful owners who make you feel very comfortable.
This B&B was booked for its proximity to the Rugby club for a party, and we didn’t want to camp, or drive home.
However, I travel a lot for work and this is place that has got it right (better than many 4 star hotels) there are usb port and sockets at the bedside tables, large towels. Plenty of milk and tea and coffee (bag - not instant). Smart clean bathroom, without bottles screwed to the wall. And breakfast was fabulous (and I normally don’t eat a full engish from the warming plate in big places but here it was freshly cooked and high quality local ingredients, (there was a vegy option with hulloumi) and the fruit was good as well (not a frozen berry in sight)
Genuinely one of the better places I have stayed this year
Very nice Bed and Breakfast. The proprietor is very kind and service oriented. The single room was spotless, comfy and nicely decorated. Well stocked tea and coffee options in the room. There is even more in the aisle if you somehow run out. Onsite parking was nice to have.
The couple running it are very friendly and accomadating on any request. The breakfasts were amazing using all fresh local produce.A lovely atmosphere.I did not find anything to dislike about my stay at Elder Grove
