Excellent getaway

Loved the cabin. There were plenty of beds for our party. The sauna was a great addition to get warm and help wind down the night.

No complaints

This rental is located close to the resort and all parts of the town. Pictures on this listing are accurate and the place was just as expected. There is a sauna inside the place and although I didn’t use it I did test it and it worked.

Teen Birthday Ski Weekend

So cute, the loft was perfect for the teens. Super close to slopes. Adult bedroom removed from the kids, thank you. Watching DVDs from the diverse collection was nostalgic and fun.

Alpine Meadows..Alyeska

Beautiful and very comfortable log cabin.. It looks a little rough on the outside...but beautiful interior. Roads ran on both sides of the cabin..but very little traffic in September when we were there. Walking distance to the ski area for hiking.

We got married

0 complaints, everything was super clean and very spacious for my wife and I. Girdwood was a very cool town, the surrounding houses were beautiful! Not a complaint... but the house was outdated, my wife and i looked at it as staying in an antique kinda cabin!

Cozy Little Cabin if You Set Your Expectations Properly

This cabin was cozy and warm, in a great location, and was cleaned well before our stay. The foundation and floor are sloped and uneven, and there is a lot of general maintenance needed inside and out. It's in need of updating, but the upgrades that have been made (appliances, heater, sauna) were in good condition and working well. We didn't watch any DVDs, but there were so many to choose from, along with some games and books, and the kids loved sleeping in the loft. As long as you read through the prior reviews and set your expectations for something rustic and dated, you will find it to be cozy, comfortable, and convenient.

Uneven floors and dirty windows

One of the reasons we picked this location was a great view and a nice screened in porch but the windows were all dirty/cloudy upon arrival. spider webs and dead flies on the porch, and as others have said, the floors are uneven, noticeably so.

Alpine Meadow Log Cabin Pros and Cons

I understand that we rented on a busy weekend (Forest Fair), but the property was overpriced for what was provided. The linens are shot, the comforter had blood on it and the sheets are stained. The kitchen was minimally stocked, no foil, no coffee (even though there was a coffee pot) and the dishes/pots have seen better days. The “cabin” was rustic and cute, but truly needs a revamp! We were provided a WiFi password, but there was no internet, so I was unable to connect and work while at the property! Also, we had a delayed check in and were not provided with a entry code for nearly an hour, having us sitting outside of the property, with no access 🤷🏻‍♀️ Pluses, the loft, where the kids slept was separate from the bedroom, providing some privacy for the adults. The property is set in a beautiful, green lot, the temperate rainforest makes for a bounty of botanical and green. The property was clean, but again, the furniture and linens really need to be replaced.

Wish we could have stayed longer

The look of the cabin is awesome. The kids loved sleeping up in the loft. Having the ability to do laundry was key for us and the location was closer than Anchorage to get to Whittier for our glacier tour.

Nice 1 night stay

This was ideal for myself and 3 out of state guests I was touring around. We had just left an RV excursion through the Denali Highway. We were able to shower, do laundry, sleep well and your Whittier, Portage Crow Creek, and the Double Muskie, before heading to my house in the Kenai for Salmon fishing. Nice, clean, comfortable well located.

Cute leaning cabin

This was a cute, old cabin (the whole house is leaning) in a small neighborhood. It felt calm and secluded and had everything we needed for our stay. If you're staying here, definitely check out the short hike to Virgin Creek Falls - it was incredible!

Great location but outdated cabin

Overall stay in the cabin was pleasant, beautiful rustic cabin feels in an amazing girdwood location. However the property requires major upgrades. The shower in one of the bathroom was not working.

This photo is accurate for a sunny summer day. Otherwise this room is fairly dark. One bedroom is a loft up steep stairs, the other is added on to the side of the cabin and slopes downhill. Kitchen is very randomly stocked and dishes are chipped. Nice dishwasher! This is an older Alaskan style cabin. If you’re looking for reasonably priced digs and aren’t fussy, this place will work.host was responsive when we couldn’t get lamps to work.
