This is a nice place to stay while in Arcata: centrally located and charming. It is a bit basic, but has a good deal of old world charm in an otherwise funky, hippy, fun town.
The experience of staying on the square in Arcata is so fun but only stay if you go in expecting a lot of noise and partying. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. It's great to walk out to the market on Saturday morning and the 2:00 a.m. noise is a lot but it's a great place to stay.
Lovely historic Hotel right on the square in the heart of downtown! Cute, cozy room with every kind of romantic detail. Tomo (restaurant) convienently located next to lobby with an amazing bar. Would definitely stay here again!
Great location! The experience of staying in a historic hotel in the center of Arcata is amazing!

It’s a cute historical hotel but needs some TLC. They have claw foot tubs but couldn’t regulate the water either the shower was too hot or too cold. If you have mobility issues you couldn’t get in the tub to shower. Bed was comfy and it’s in the heart of the square but needs a little work. Staff was great and the restaurant was delicious!
This is a historic hotel with basic, but very clean rooms. We enjoyed the Venicia Italian Restaurant on the main plaza was quite good (large portiions!) and a fancy, big bar. As long as you are not there the night before the main square market, parking right next to the hotel entrance is easy and there was plenty.
Nice historic hotel. With that there's no ac but the windows open to cool it down. Downside is you hear the traffic and drunks at night. I plan on staying again as none of that bothers me but if your a light sleeper beware. The clawfoot tub was nice and the staff is wonderful and the location is fantastic. Parking can be tough
The property itself was fantastic a lot of old school charm. We loved the aesthetic. Staff was super friendly! Hotel was great!
Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the community of vagrants in the town square right outside the hotel.
We love this place, parking is a little inconvenient, especially when there's an event going on. We would definitely stay here again, they breakfast was good, the town is very cute
Arcata is a neat little town. Hotel is located directly on the square. Several restaurants close by. We went to a yummy little pizza and donuts shop for dinner. Hotel is dated but clean. No fridge or microwave in the room. The free breakfast was meager. All carbs. No protein.
Historic hotel, located on the Arcata plaza and within walking distance of several restaurants. The staff was great, parking very close and the hotel provides a parking pass. We didn’t partake of the breakfast but it’s there.

Staff was very nice. The Hotel could use some updating. The bathtub/shower was the antique type which is cute but not for the elderly or fall-risk people. Not sure if all the bathrooms are like this? Worth asking if this is an issue for you.
Building was formerly majestic. Rooms were outdated. Poor WiFi connectivity in room, noisy ceiling fan, loud vehicle noises from the street. Convenient location to restaurants, Coop grocery store and people hanging out on the street. Minimal continental breakfast.

The room was clean, the shower was divine, the staff were friendly and helpful.
Windows that actually open and a ceiling fan are hard to come by in hotels so I really appreciated the fresh sea air and fan here. Plus a comfy bed and pillows and hot shower made for a great stay.
Nice historic building in the center of town. Very nicely maintained and the staff are quiet but friendly enough. The back of the hotel can get noisy with nightly alley mini parties. Our bed was basically U-shaped and we struggled to not roll into the middle of the bed. That was our only complaint. Parking is excellent and there’s a very good sushi restaurant in the lobby. There’s also a good number of places to eat around the plaza and in the surrounding neighborhoods.
