The rooms were not sound proof enough to not hear the connecting room activity by other guests and also the surrounding area outdoor as there was a lot of loud music to be heard emanating from outside.

The pool was closed. I booked the stay for the pool and the views from the infinity pool. The staff was nice, but I was not happy overall. I booked a 2-night stay with Expedia. I canceled the first night. I never got a refund.

You can spend time exploring the galleries in Cleaver Woods Park during your trip to Arouca. Amble around the area's parks or experience its museums.
Not too much of a bad area compared to other places in trinidad. The rate for the stay was reasonable esp when a light breakfast is included . Pretty close to trincity mall and five rivers made it absolutely perfect for me
Hire a driver or take a maxi taxi to get around. And if you're feeling adventurous you can hitchhike. Don't recommend it unless you are traveling with a local that you know.
