What an amazing place to stay! Stunning views over a quiet bay, a beautiful infinity pool, all within an easy walk into the village for restaurants, bakery and supermarket. The hospitality from Nikolaos was so warm and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, we just wish we could stay longer!

Staff really friendly, cleanliness of the whole resort was superb. Beautiful infinity pool, kept amazingly clean.The area was beautiful, lovely beaches within walking distance. Couldn’t ask for a better place to stay.

I cannot praise the Castellano enough. Built in a Cycladic style, rooms are fresh, exceptionally clean and have all you need. Each room has a terrace or balcony, with pool views. Located 15 minute drive to Chora, directly under flight path (though with only 1-2 small planes a day, this has no effect, it is quiet and peaceful in its setting with lovely pool area and plenty of parking. Extremely comfortbale beds, with branded toiletries provided and replenished. Kitchenette has fridge, microwave, hob and kettle (nearest mini market is 5 min drive away). Excellent air conditioning, which was not too noisy as some can be. Where the Castellano truly shines and deserves 7 stars is its owners and staff. Right from walking in, Nikos and family were welcoming, friendly and always on hand. They genuinely wanted you to enjoy your stay and offer recommendations and help. Would absolutely recommend to anyone staying in Astypalaia - one of the best stays we've had in Greece.

We should really keep this place a secret!

Castellano and Astypalea were a real find and worth the long ferry journey, although there are also limited flights to and from Athens, Kos and Rhodes. The studios have the standard of a boutique hotel but with a relaxed ambience of a family run business. Most suitable for couples and families with slightly older children (5+). The location is on the quieter side of the island and has fantastic views across Maltezana Bay. It is on the edge of a small resort with a good range of tavernas within walking distance, with a reliable hourly bus service as an alternative.There is an excellent swimming pool, and several local beaches. The accomodation had everything we needed, with optional self-catering. Buffet breakfast was good. The family were welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them. We will definitely return to this place.
