The property itself unfortunately is very old and dated. We stayed in the ocean tower which is supposed to have been redone. We were assigned a wrong room and had to go back and forth to the front desk twice to get it fixed. The room had really no amenities, it had a tiny bar of soap and some hand cream. We did not receive a room with a view which we paid for. Upon arrival we will told that there were none. Our rooms overlapped rooftops of squalor. Lots of pigeon droppings. It was very unfortunate considering this was a celebratory trip, which we explained ahead of time. The front desk manager tried to resolve this issue, and did switch one of the rooms. But it also was not great. One of our rooms had a comfortable bed the other room had a mattress that was as hard as rocks. We also asked for a high floor which goes very high, and we would put on five. I don't know if this is because we booked through Expedia, which would be terrible if that's the case. The restaurant, Dougherty's was not great. The food was okay but extremely high priced for what it was. I would not go there again although the wait staff was excellent. You also ate at margaritaville, which was fine, and they did have a great band on Saturday night. However the band stopped just before 11:00 p.m. and that was a big disappointment. We did end up going to another location for our breakfasts because the offering at this resort hotel was not good.
