Hotel needed a good cleaning in the common areas. The carpeting was dirty, and it looked like the place was very poorly taken care of. The room itself was clean and much better than the common areas. The shower had no hot water at first until someone in the front desk. Explain there’s a “trick” to it in the way you use the handle. Kind of silly for a hotel to have a trick like that needed. ‘Curb appeal’ of the hotel was totally lacking. No ice available and the little ‘shop’ had very little in it for purchase. You would think the hotel just opened up. Overall not a great experience.

All was great except when we got back in late our key would not open our door. We went twice back to the desk to get a new key and still door did not open. The guy in the front desk had to go manually open it with a machine. After about 5 minutes of trying it finally open. They had to change us to different room. Had to repack and get everything out of fridge. After finally getting another room they didn’t give us the password to the WiFi. Only the key to the room. Was too tired to go back downstairs. Other than that stay was good.

We were in Austin for some medical things. As we checked in we found the elevator was out of service. It had been out for over a week and wasn't going to be working for a few more. With the only rooms avaliable, we had to slowly climb the stairs to the 3rd floor with my injury. But the room was fine and nice and cold! In the morning, I sent my husband to get me coffee (no machines in the room). He came back w a Keurig and told me the coffee machines were down and would not be working for a few hours. Then we went to breakfast, they had the least amount of food items I have ever seen at a HIE. I always have a bagel & pb but they do not carry pb so I settled for butter. The employees didn't seem to care whether we were inconviennced or not. They were just matter of fact. I think I'd rather pay more and stay elsewhere on our future visits.

I was only there for one night, but I found it to be clean, and well appointed. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and even assisted me in finding somewhere to have dinner when I arrived. The price for the room was also very reasonable, considering it was in a very nice area surrounding Austin Texas. Would recommend this Holiday Inn to anyone who’s looking for a pleasant experience.

Most of the staff was great. But really depends on who is there that day. I had a couple of people being extremely helpful and nice. but one morning we didn’t have water during breakfast and the main desk attendant just said: “there is nothing we can do about it.” But other times I had people walking an extra mile to help with the laundry machine and other things. Outside needs care. But the room was clean and the mattress was new and confortable. Breakfast was good for what it is.
