My family loved the home! Although, we didnt have hot water for showers, which was a bummer, but it might have to do with the water restrictions the island is on.
The condo had a great view! Need a taxi to get to the property, it is a good walk. Master Bedroom only had bath, no shower. There are steps to get into the living room, Kitchen and Master bedroom
The location of this Condo is perfect, close to beach, close to pool and views just can’t be beat. This is a corner Condo so you get a bit more privacy and extra views. Hamilton Cove itself is quiet and very well kept… a little piece of heaven.
Communication with host was easy , the place is beautifully decorated with mermaid and sea decor .
There was a coffee pot there as well just need to bring your own coffee.
Everything worked fine during our stay and beds were really comfortable.
Can’t wait to return !
Everything about the unit was wonderful. The only negative is that the bathroom could use some updating. The cleaning staff was friendly and the 6 seater golf cart worked great!
I would definitely stay there again!

Magestic Views
The condo had several things that were minor but added up.It is a bit dated and does not seem to have the attention to detail. That being said it is a perfect location and views were amazing. BEDS were fabulous.
Great location away from the hustle and bustle of tourists. Spectacular view and unit was clean and tidy.
Appreciated the use of the golf cart so we were able to explore the island.
Do not recommend bringing more then a carry on sized bag/suitcase as there are many exterior stairs to climb before accessing the unit and if you have any physical limitations that may impede climbing many flights of stairs you may want to consider another lodging option.
Overall, our stay was quite, relaxing and comfortable and we look forward to going back again soon.
What a beautiful place to stay. It was an internal fight of whether to stay and enjoy the beautiful views, or explore the island. You also get some stair aerobics heading up to the apartment. The only small issue, if you're directionally challenged, a.k.a short, you'll have a hard time with the lock box on the door. We had a beautiful stay and hope to visit again, soon.
This is our second year renti g this condo. We love the big living room and the dining room table. Some of our family members have mobility issues so we also rented another condo with fewer step.
Some
It is hard to leave the balcony of this unit because the view is so awesome. I sent friends photos and they kept asking when did you go to Greece. Mid-January is a great time to visit the island if you like no crowds in town. However, many restaurants were closed because if the off-season. The condo was very nicely decorated and well-maintained. Having 2 bedrooms face the ocean was a nice surprise! There are about 72 stairs to this unit so pack light and get ready to get your steps in.

It’s a beautiful place to stay and so relaxing the view is amazing. The only problem is most of the knobs need to fix like bathtub knob, door knobs, stove knob need to fix. Otherwise I will come back again.

Great property at a great location. And hey provide a golf cart for us to move about the island while we are there.
The only issue, and one mentioned by a lot of reviewers, so we were aware when we booked, is property maintenance. Fixtures like the toilet paper holder in one of the restrooms are broken and just balanced as if they are ok.

Too many stairs this is definitely a workout to get to the unit. Children screaming from the pool area. I really wanted to enjoy the jacuzzi but looking for relaxation time not kids being loud. The unit itself had nice view. And overall really nice. Too many details before checking in i was overwhelmed.
We spent two days at Catalina for my daughter’s birthday. The condo was beautiful and had plenty of room for everyone to feel comfortable. I don’t recall seeing anything in the description that getting to and front the unit requires a lot of stair climbing so I was happy that we didn’t bring the grandparents because it certainly would have been an issue with no elevator. Other than that, we will book two nights rather than one next time so we can really enjoy the property and not have to worry about checking out and getting to the boat on time.
Thanks for opening your home so we could make wonderful memories.
This place makes you feel like you’re in another world. I mean being in Catalina makes you feel so far removed from LA and Orange County, but this little enclave just minutes from Avalon proper makes you feel like you’re on your own little island!
Our place came with a golf cart to get around town and it has every amenity. Beautifully decorated with a wonderful island “beach” feel. We went to town on the golf cart and bought groceries at the local Vons (which is surprisingly very well stocked!!) and cooked dinner and breakfast and then carted back to town other days to eat in town.
Some of the best times were eating and drinking on the balcony overlooking the Pacific and seeing LA and Orange County lights in the distance while listening to our favorite music!
Super nice people all around!
This place is the BEST!
Catalina is a magical place and this was a great property. We really enjoyed the balcony/deck/outdoor area, and found that the living area and the bedrooms and bathrooms were pleasantly decorated and comfortable. My bed was great!
That said, there are a lot of stairs to climb to get to and from this property. I would not advise it for anyone with mobility issues. Also, it could use a little TLC. The toaster was unpredictable and the toilet flush had to be jiggled repeatedly. Also, the barbecue was very greasy and could cause a fire if not cleaned soon. Still, we enjoyed our stay very much.

Needs lots of TLC
The view from the property was beautiful... with a few obvious improvements, the condo could be beautiful also. But, unfortunately it was in drastic need of repair. The bathtub faucet handle fell off in my hand when I went to turn on the water, the power went out on SEVERAL occasions, the bathroom floor outside the shower was rotted from water damage, the kitchen faucet shot water upwards toward the cabinetry, the front door was hard to lock, one of the patio doors was almost impossible to lock, and the golf cart has seen better days. Additionally, compared to other vrbo properties we have stayed in, it was not very well equipped. (i.e., coffee, spices, laundry detergent, etc.).

Love Hamilton Cove, unit could use some TLC
Pros: Hamilton Cove is magical. I love it here and will continue to visit this part of Catalina often. The condo is convenient to everthing, the beach, the putting course, golf, and the pool. The golf cart was great too. The kitchen was well stocked. The master bed was very comfortable. The 2 fans were helpful as it was warm.
Cons: The front door knob fell off everytime we opened the door, the patio door knobs are all in a bad state, the only shower in the condo has a door that will not close and the floor is being ruined from water damage, the toilet flush handle sticks and water will run if you don't realize to unstick it, and there is a very bad smell in the master closet.
Overall: I would not rent this unit again due to the state of disrepair. As an owner of 3 rental homes in other areas in Southern California, I would be ashamed to charge over $5000 for 4 nights and have any one of the above complaints listed.
Stunning Views & Great Amenities, But Be Mindful of a Few Quirks
Catalina Island is a paradise, so no matter where you stay, you’re in for a great time. My partner, friends, and I had an amazing three-day trip at this property, though some concerns did arise. The owner messaged me about a rental contract, which was a bit more involved than expected, but once submitted, everything was smooth. Finding the unit was tricky—the gate guard required a building number (not listed in the ad), but they helped us figure out it was Building 4. Be prepared for lots of stairs but the balcony view was worth it.The unit was great—Roku TV with free streaming, stunning glass doors overlooking the ocean, and a fantastic area. Golf-carting around the area is a must, offering a sauna, hot tub, pool, private beach, tennis & basketball courts, and more. Catalina conserves water, so there’s no fridge water filter or bottled water provided—bring your own!Bring warm clothes and blankets—no central heat, just small space heaters that short-circuited our power one night (quickly resolved by the property manager). The biggest downside—we found mice droppings on the kitchen counter, and a sealed chip bag was chewed into overnight. The manager claimed there were “no issues” due to monthly exterminations, which seemed inaccurate.Despite this, we loved our stay. The balcony view, location, and nearby activities—zip-lining, scenery, a pet cemetery, gift shops, and parasailing—made it worth it.
Beautiful location. The house has everything you might need in the kitchen. It is due for some updating like flooring and living room couch but it is very comfortable and the beds slept like clouds.
There were heaters that could be moved to warm the space because the thermostats didn't seem to work.
This property is on the third floor so there are many steps, (like 50), to climb and there is no elevator. There are two bathrooms but one only has a tub that is quite low and deep so be aware if there are older guests. The shower door in the second bathroom didn't close tightly and there were a couple of other minor needed changes that I made the owner aware of. Golf cart is included at the site, which is a real plus. Taxi fare was $25.00 from the ferry to the location.
We had a lovely visit!
We were there in the winter, but I know it is great in the spring/summer. The host was extremely accommodating. We ran into really bad weather and she was open to work with us if we had to stay longer.
First the good: clean spacious unit, great view, superior bed, easy to use TV, well equipped kitchen.
The bad--this unit badly needs a handyman to spend a few hours fixing the many annoying issues. Front door doesn't lock. Second bath TP dispenser falls off the wall, shower door doesn't latch. Toilet runs. Bathtub handles come right off in your hands. Oven knobs come off in your hands. Jury rigged secondary lights under the cabinet. Kitchen drawers don't slide open easily.
Golf cart is worn out--a rattle trap with one bald tire and the gas guage doesn't work.
The manager of this unit really should hire someone to fix this otherwise great unit.
