This was our favorite stay in Spain! Great location with a convenient walk to the metro making public transport easily accessible. Our room was pristine and a good size for the two of us and we even had a balcony. Ivan at the front desk was so incredibly kind and helpful especially after canceled trains and allowing us to stay and store our bags while we figured it out. Would definitely stay again. Also really appreciated the intent for cleaner and sustainable living for the earth!!

The room was clean and the location was amazing. Everything was walkable. Currently (August 2026), there is a lot of construction on La rambla (Main Street), so traffic can get a little backed up.

Great stay at Hostal Mare Nostrum! The room and bathroom were clean, the staff were friendly, and the location was the highlight, right in the middle of La Rambla, making it easy to walk everywhere. It's perfect if you're after a clean, comfortable room in an unbeatable location.

Was a little hard to go up those stairs with my luggage (since we had a late check in) but other than that’s everything was perfect, when we check out the front desk person helped us with our luggage.

Location is 10*. Everything is walking distance. I love that they stored our luggage since we checked in way early after our cruise. There's a small elevator from 3rd floor ( front desk) to upper floors, but we had to haul our luggage through 3 flights of stairs from the ground floor. I had 3 husky men with me so it wasn't a problem. I think they have people in the daytime who can help haul your luggage. It was pretty tight for 4 people (with 4 twin beds) but beds were comfortable. A/C can't be adjusted but we slept good anyway. It's also amazing that the noise from the street under our balcony didn't really bother us. Sound proofing was well placed. Staff was very helpful and kind. Will stay again if bigger room is available

Clean room, breakfast, a location that is hard to beat. Those are the good things about this hotel. Air conditioning is good on hot summer days. The hotel is off La Rambla in front of a metro station and across from the Gothic Quarter. One block from La Boqueria market. Only cons are that the building is old and the rooms are small. You have to walk 3 flights of steps to get to the lobby so beware if you have heavy luggage or mobility problems.
