1912 Boutique Hotel

"Stayed at the 1912 Boutique Hotel in Cayey and it completely exceeded expectations. The building itself has real character — you can tell it’s a converted early-1900s property rather than a generic modern build, and the individually decorated rooms give it a warm, personal feel you don’t get at chain hotels. Our room had a great mountain view, a solid kitchenette setup with a mini-fridge and coffee maker, and a 48-inch flat-screen with cable — plenty comfortable for a short or extended stay. The bed and pillows were excellent which made for one of the best hotel sleeps I’ve had in a while. Location is unbeatable if you want to explore Cayey’s mountain town charm, grab lechón at Guavate’s Pork Highway nearby, or use it as a quieter, more affordable base than San Juan. Front desk staff were friendly and check-in was smooth. Highly recommend for anyone wanting an authentic, boutique alternative to the big resort hotels."

"Una experiencia excelente. Solo estuve una noche para descansar y fue justo lo que necesitaba. El lugar es muy cómodo, tranquilo, limpio y acogedor. "Mont Carpe Diem is more than just a resort. It truly feels like a home away from home. From our very first meeting with Pedro and Yolandra, we were touched by how caring, loving, and welcoming they were. Everything they did for us came from the heart, and they made us feel truly special and at home. The resort itself is an absolute paradise. My husband and I were amazed by its breathtaking beauty, peaceful atmosphere, and the love and care that went into every detail. Our experience at Mont Carpe Diem was unforgettable, and we are so grateful for the wonderful memories we created there. We cannot thank Pedro and Yolandra enough for their incredible hospitality. Mont Carpe Diem is truly a special place, and we look forward to returning soon."

"This property is only accesible by car, since any amenity may involve several minutes driving. This house is on the top of a hill near an artificial reservoir set within the Carite State Forest in the Sierra de Cayey mountain range. Lost of Coquis!. The place is a three bedroom, all with several windows and a porch. Views are fantastic and illustrative of the humid tropical and subtropical humid forest. The upper part of the house is in a decent shape and water at that time was available without any issue. I appreciated having a small ice maker tray in the freezer. The owner was quite responsive to my messages, which was great. If I were the owner I'd suggest offering the kayak for day rent. There's no much to do around for a family with small kids. Instead of the listed coffemaker we found two stovetop coffee maker (greca) with one missing a handle. Beds were just ok, with linens and towels in gray color. Softener was hiding the unpleasant smell of mold. The floor was noticeable in need of a scrub, especially in the bathroom. That bathroom mat is nothing good. Bed linens were of dark colors and 100% polyester. Flat sheets were not provided but I received them upon request. Plenty of roosters around that wakes you at several intervals from 5 am in the morning."
