Superb inn/hotel I really enjoyed my stay here. Clean and tidy room with a comfy bed. The staff are very friendly and the food and drink options are excellent. Definitely stay here again.
Stayed following.a charity event, turned up with an additional unexpected guest and Lindy and Jo quickly accommodated him and made up another room on the spot. Nothing was too much trouble for them and the rooms were excellent.
This is a lovely traditional country pub with friendly hosts and locals, attentive staff and a welcoming, relaxing atmosphere. The food is home cooked pub food at its best and the breakfast was high quality and served to your own personal preferences. Nice walk by the Humber completed our enjoyable night escape. Fantastic value for money, no hesitation in recommending this place.
The breakfast was amaizing!!! The room had heating, i turned radiator down but nice if u like heat... the bed was very close to the tv on wall so getting to yhe otherside of the bed you are banging into bed.
But rest brilliant, fabulously comfy bed and affordable.
The accomodation was of a high standard and it’s a lovely old property. Staff were good and very helpful. I went into Hull to meet some friends, got back at 10.40 pm and the entire pub was locked up and lights out. Luckily they heard me in the car park and let me in. Alarm went off at midnight and again at 5.00 am. The shower wouldn’t work, staff member had to come up and show me a small switch on the skirting. Arrived for breakfast to be informed I wasn’t expected, they quickly corrected that and the breakfast was actually wonderful.
There was no daily housekeeping as stated we stayed for 2 nights room was not checked or cleaned nice comfortable room it was a shame that there was no housekeeping otherwise a lovely stay
This Inn is out on a limb, but a lovely spot. Unfortunately, our visit was apparently just after local farmers feeding fields, which permeated the rooms. This didn't prevent us having a lovely stay.
Top things were, the food (evening menu, and breakfast), the room was comfortable and clean, and the owners were pleasant and welcoming.
Areas for improvement were, we had a very dusty corner of the bathroom which seemed to have been missed (despite everything else being clean), the bathroom window could do with a blind where rooms are visible from the car park. A minor thing we were asked to select breakfast on arrival, but the options were vague, maybe give people a menu selection form to make it easier for guests.
Most importantly, were we happy with our stay, and would we stay again? Absolutely, definitely recommend this place.
Lovely staff, but sadly that doesn’t make up for how tatty tired and noisy this room was. The plumbing and central heating so noisy that I had to wear earplugs. A major redeeming factor was the breakfast the food was really good however be warned breakfast doesn’t start until 930 so if you’re an early bird this location and these times may not suit you. Rooms were small obviously no soundproofing due to the age of the building with any hotel stay you do always have to experience others stomping up and down the corridors and banging doors et cetera but some hotels are better than others and sadly this could will be one of the worst and noisiest I’ve ever been in. Room was small and grubby. I noticed the curtains carpets cushions and bedspread were dusty and dirty. As a venue, it’s a really great pub with a restaurant attached but it’s not a good hotel.
We enjoyed our stay and the owners and staff made us very welcome which was much appreciated so we had a comfortable visit. We enjoyed the meals and in March with experiencing snow during our journey up the log fires in the bar area were lovely.
