I love the tranquility of the vicinity. It was relaxing. I love that it is near to the nature reserve too. The hotel provides shuttle services to the popular malls as well as the nature reserve.
Always a great stay in Wyndham Panbil, whose name was Best Western. My family always stay in the hotel for few days every year. The lake view from hotel room or swimming pool offer a great view which makes it suitable place for healing. Top recommendation.
I love the tranquil environment. Peace and quiet. Beautiful scenery of lake just looking out of my room window. The restaurants are excelent both in service and quality of food. The br3akfast was excellent. First time I experienced Teppanyaki Steak cooked in front of me for breakfast in hotel.
Highly recommended. Will come again.
Room is enough for couple staying in Batam. Location is about 15 to 20 mins away from the malls. Driver has to make a u turn to return back to the hotel and not ideal in a raining day or at night. Staff is friendly and helpful although breakfast on Sunday was chaotic. It was better managed on Monday.
Beautiful hotel, spacious, well renovated, many lighting in the room for different areas, hotel provided ample drinking water and complimentary minibar drinks, friendly front desk. Breakfast was a bit confusing for new guests, long and confusing waiting for services like juice and egg station, they lack clear signage about how to order juice and egg from staff who lack English conversation skills. Location was a bit far from many popular areas. It stated that there was a medical center within the hotel but it was closed when my family was sick and needed to access medical help. The room was locked and the front desk said it would be closed for the whole day. We did not use the service but the hotel offers free shuttle to and from the ferry, that is helpful.
The room was clean, the lake view from my room was pretty nice, the restaurants' staff were very friendly and attentive, the overall atmosphere was good and the hotel was not overly crowded. Great that there is an Eska spa in the hotel as well.
However, there was this female frontdesk staff who was a little rude - on one of the days, I went down to the frontdesk to ask her about what the complimentary coupon for the lobby bar entails. The next morning I called the reception to check if the mini bar was complimentary, apparantly that same female staff was on duty, and she must have heard it wrongly the first day and thought I was asking about the mini bar again, so she told me in a very sassy tone that she "ALREADY TOLD ME" that it was complimentary. I went on to explain that on the previous day, I was actually asking about the lobby bar, not the mini bar in the room, but she continued to argue with me. I felt that even if there wasn't a miscomm, she should have been more patient if a guest were to ask the same question. However, in my case it was two different qns. She should keep that attitude and tonality in check, and probably be retrained. If the frontdesk struggles to answer questions from guests, I suggest that the hotel should put small notes in the room to indicate such things, or have the frontdesk staff inform us upon arrival. Details like pool operating hours and mini-bar were left out etc.
i liked how sustainable the hotel is trying to be.
Instead of offering bottled water to their guests, they gave us a huge water bottle with a tap connected to it, so we could fill the kettle and boil our water for drinking if needed. the room and facility are clean and comfortable.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
However, my companions and I found that the restaurant where we had our breakfast was somewhat lacking. the restaurant is open for breakfast from 6 a.m. - 10 a.m.. and when we went down at 9 a.m., the buffet was about empty already. I can understand if it's 30mins before 10 am but not an hour. it's inexcusable.
We went down at 8 a.m. the next day. The buffet was also, almost empty. cold cuts were empty, the porridge was already finished. the sausages and bacon were also gone. we asked for a top-up for the porridge and waited for the others to be topped up. but when they top up the porridge, it was cold. the miso soup that we expected to be hot, was lukewarm. the chefs and service staff should at least maintain the buffet and not leave empty pots and cold food for their guests to eat, especially not early in the morning.
Dinner at La Bella Vita however, was excellent. The food was fast, the service was good and so was the ambience.
