Fantastic location. Friendly staff who were very helpful. Kids welcome. Food menu wasn't huge but what we ate was well cooked and delicious. Good size rooms and very quaint . Old building with lots of character. Loved our stay here .
The staff were very polite nd friendly. The room was very spacious with a large comfortable bed. There was a kettle with loads of tea, coffee, sugar and milk supplied. There was a shower in the bathroom . With very large towels which smelled lovely . Lots of shampoo, shower gel snd body lotion supplied. I will definitely be going back
A bit noisy in the room but you’d expect that being above a pub. Lovely room & great shower. Staff really friendly & great breakfast at reasonable price.
Nice pub hotel, my room was large and comfortable with lovely bed linen. The shower cubicle was a bit tight but had a good shower.
Ideally located on the high street, but as a consequence couod be a bit noisy particularly at the front of the hotel. We did not get breakfast as was leaving early, the staff, though only met briefly, were pleasant. My only gripe was that i could hear the music from the bar very easily- i called down in the end at 10.30pm and they turned it down.
The room was nice and big. The staff were friendly. The location was great, near lots of pubs and restaurants. The pub is good too, with friendly people.
Not necessarily suited for young children on friday night as the area is loud until 0030, although it did quieten down once bars were shut. The shower water pressure in the evening seemed a lot lower than the morning.

Good location for purpose of my stay. Very friendly staff.
Needed to keep window open for air, traffic on street can be quite noisy. Could also hear people in other rooms/pub downstairs. Could not get Television to operate properly (sound but no picture).
We had a pleasant one-night stay at The Bull while we were in town for a friend's wedding. We were slightly confused at first as you check in at the pub's bar, with the rooms on the floor above. There's an interior security door to keep the room level private and also to cut down on noise, so we didn't have any concerns there. The manager that greeted us was very friendly and helpful in getting us settled in.
The room itself had very recently been refurbished and was very clean and welcoming. The mattress and bedding were comfortable and we had a great night's sleep. The bathroom was older and not as modern as the room, however it was clean and everything worked perfectly well, which is all we really asked for. As we really were only in the room to sleep, it perfectly suited our needs.
The pub does close at midnight, so if you aim to be out later, you just need to let them know so that someone can let you in. But it's also nice that the pub closes at midnight because you don't have to worry about noise in the middle of the night. And it's just a super convenient location, right in the middle of town and a 3 minute walk to Battle Abbey.
