Lake Como offers some of the most striking urban, scenic and architectural gems in the entire Italian peninsula. Prominent among these treasures is Bellano, a charming Italian village located on the shores of Lake Como, surrounded by picturesque mountains. Among its main attractions is the charming Church of San Giorgio, a masterpiece of Romanesque architecture. Nature lovers can explore the Pioverna Valley, where a trail leads to the spectacular Orrido di Bellano waterfall.
Unmissable activities include walks along the lakefront, boat rides to admire the historic villas that dot the shore, and hikes in the surrounding area to enjoy the panoramic views. Local dishes in the area reflect the richness of Lake Como cuisine, with specialties such as risotto with lake fish and missoltino, a fish typical of Lake Como that is dried and then masterfully cooked.
Nearby, we recommend visiting Varenna, a charming lakeside village known for its botanical gardens and Vezio Castle, which offers breathtaking views. Bellano stands as a hidden gem on the shores of Lake Como, offering a mix of history, nature and local gastronomy.
The apartment is a 1-hour and 15-minute drive from Orio al Serio Airport.
