Lovely lake getaway! Well- appointed, and very clean! Has everything you need to thoroughly relax in the woods! Bedding was super comfortably and Host linda was great ! Will be back !
We had a very nice stay for our long weekend get away. The cottage has everything we needed and is very clean. We did not have the best weather, so looking forward to visiting again to be able to enjoy the kayaks and pond.
We had a wonderful time during our week at the lovely Honey Bear Cottage. The cottage was beautifully decorated and well stocked with supplies to make our stay convenient and enjoyable. There was a great variety of watercraft available for our use as well. The property is well secluded to provide privacy and a restful, relaxing atmosphere.
We had a great time at our Honey Bear cozy cabin; it was excellent. Our host, Linda Jane was awesome and kept in touch with us anytime we needed anything. Thanks Linda for all the goodies! The place was very clean and had everything in there we needed plus a lot of things we never thought would be there; it was great! The location was awesome since we had a big family get together and most of them stayed at Woodford State Park, which was only a mile down the road. It was so nice and close and those staying in lean-to’s and tents, were a little jealous of us! Especially Sunday morning, waking up to pouring rain. Thanks again, Linda Jane. We will definitely be back!
We received the warmest welcome and were fully taken care of. Linda Jane went out of her way to ensure all of our needs were met and that we had an enjoyable experience. She was highly responsive to our questions and accommodation requests. We had a wonderful time enjoying the lake and surrounding area in the state and National forests!
We travel to Vermont frequently. This was the best rental we have had. The property is sparkling clean and very cozy. The location is beautiful, and the host is very responsive, taking great pride in her property. I wish I could add more stars to my recommendation. My husband and I will definitely return.
What a lovely stay! The cabin was stocked with everything we needed and it was very clean and well organized. The photos don't quite do it justice. Peaceful lake views all day with mountains in the distance - what's not to like? We used the queen bedroom on the main floor and the bed was so very comfortable. We were there for two weeks, so we definitely used the kitchen - again, a well-planned space and well stocked. We hope to be there again!
The weather was perfect for enjoying this water front property. It was so easy and convenient to have plenty of boat and floatie options right on site, and the deck was perfect for mealtimes in the sunshine. Our teen and tween didn’t have much trouble navigating the ladder to the loft bedrooms, but it is something to note if there are less agile members of your party.
The Honey Bear Cottage is adorable. The cottage is well stocked and immaculate. The adjustable bed is extremely comfortable. We did not get to use the fire pits or the upstairs bedroom but we did get to enjoy Big Pond, using the kayak and pedal boat. The hostess, Linda Jane is very attentive to your needs. Watching the stars from the deck is amazing. I would love to stay again. Very relaxing!
Linda Jane’s place is absolutely wonderful! The house was sparkling clean and had everything we could need for a weekend ski getaway. Also situated on a scenic pond in a quiet neighborhood. About 30 minute drive to Mt. Snow. Only thing to note, the cabin is a bit open concept, so Linda Jane kindly provided a divider to allow for more privacy between the downstairs bedrooms. We had a great weekend with friends and would love to plan a trip back!
We had a great stay during 2023 Memorial weekend. The house was sweet, very clean and perfect for a family with a mother in law. Everyone had their own space (even the teenager had his own bed) and we enjoyed the outside with the kayaks and paddling board. The view from the living room/kitchen is stunning and the pictures don't do it justice. Linda Jane was very responsive and very communicative. We hope to come back next Summer.
The cottage is absolutely adorable, and is furnished with all the amenities. The beds are Uber comfortable. The kitchen is beautiful and is stocked with all the appliances you would expect and more. The house is clean, comfortable, cozy and has a bit of whimsical decor which our kids loved. It fit our family of 5 perfectly. The views are stunning. It’s 25 min away from Mt Snow. The owner is very responsive and flexible. We would absolutely stay here again. We loved it. Thank you for a great escape.
We had a wonderful stay at this warm and inviting lakeside home. Sitting out on the deck early mornings and evenings accompanied by the firepit and picturesque autumn lake was especially peaceful. We took advantage of the beautiful weather and got out on the lake in the paddleboat. The home is cozy and inviting. The upstairs loft is so beautiful and we had to take advantage of sleeping up there with a view of the lake out the window. The host was gracious and communication was easy. The surrounding area was beautiful. We enjoyed scenic country drives, small town charm and of course the breathtaking landscape a Vermont October offers.
If you're looking for a nice late fall weekend getaway or even a lengthier stay in a charming little lake front cottage, than look no further! We arrived to beautiful snowy scenery with a lovely view of the lake (which was just beginning to freeze over for the winter) and a welcoming note accompanied by a delicious bottle of red! Thank you, Linda Jane! The cottage was fully stocked, clean, and very warm and cozy, with just the right amount of rustic feel you would expect from a lakeside cottage. We had a great time exploring the area visiting the local shops, restaurants and of course the general stores in almost every town along the way. The town of Bennington has a few local breweries and a local distillery, both with good food and drink. It was a wonderful relaxing trip, and we couldn't have asked for a better host. Hope to return for some winter and summer fun in the future!
I can’t say enough about LJ - she was very communicative & very pleasant. Honey Bear cabin was better than the pics. Great place for dog/s to swim - very secluded. Also great for the little ones. You have to go out pretty far for it to start getting deep. It rained most of our stay so we played a lot of games. (some we brought- some she had.) We even played Monopoly in its entirety. We went out to eat in Bennington & Wilmington. There’s no dishwasher at Honey Bear Cabin - but that didn’t make a difference, we brought plastic ware & paper plates so it wasn’t too bad. The queen bed downstairs was amazingly comfortable - I didn’t even move - I usually toss and turn!!! The cabin is well decorated & so cute!!! Such a fun time, even with the rain.
Thank you LJ for sharing your space. 😉
We had the most wonderful stay! The house and the property were beautiful, the amentities were excellent, and Linda Jane was an incredibly generous and accommodating host. We visit Bennington every year for Thanksgiving with family and we hope to rent with Linda Jane again in the future.
We had an absolutely incredible vacation staying at Linda's cabin right on Big Pond. Having all the boats to use was great, our dog loved swimming everyday, and Linda was the best host
Loved our day here. Clean, cozy house with a great bonus room and 1/2 bath upstairs for kids/ teens to hang out. On a lovely pond, quiet neighborhood and spacious yard. Fire pit was great and plenty of seating on the deck. We didn’t use the kayaks/canoes due to our short stay, but wish we could have. Easy check-in/ out, communication with owner was quick and seamless. Hope to stay here again.
The house was very cozy and had great views. Working with owner was a dream when we had a problem with internet. All fixed now, no other problems! Thanks so much Linda!
We arrived to a super clean, fun space with a great yard and access to the pond. The house worked perfectly for us, with our two dogs. The owners were very responsive, and even left us a bottle of wine. We will likely book again.
