In an uncontaminated corner in the heart of Tuscany, on the border of the National Park of the Casentinesi Forests, Monte Falterona and Campigna, stands the Villa di Catarsena, an elegant Villa in Tuscany and ideal location for relaxing stays, tasting good food and wine, art, spirituality and nature.



Near our Villa in Tuscany there are several wineries that offer the tasting of wines and typical products, enriching your stay with typical food and wine delights of the Casentino and Tuscany.



Villa Catarsena is an integral part of an agricultural and forestry company of over 850 hectares of land: the farmhouse, obtained from a skilful restoration of the existing structures, offers hospitality in an ancient Tuscan Villa of the late 1600s, modified during the 19 Century and wisely restored and restructured recently to use it as agritourism hospitality.





The swimming pool is available to guests just 20 meters from the Villa, with a comfortable width of 6 x 14 meters. The swimming pool is equipped with sun loungers, deck chairs, tables and umbrellas.



The pool can be heated in the cooler seasons in order to allow it to be used even in early autumn or mid-spring.

Villa Catarsena är en underbar upplevelse. Vackert belägen på en sydsluttning i bergslandskapet. Fantastiska möjligheter till eget hushåll genom det fina lantköket och bra matplatser inomhus och utomhus. Vi rekommenderar att ni prövar Giorgios pizzaugn som ett privat event. A wonderful stay

Niddled in the Tuscany country, the house is typical but very modern inside. all the confort needed is present, event in the smaller details , for example for culinary items. Owners are wonderful, so kind and attentive to all your needs, tips for the restaurant for example. I recommand this stay, it was a wonderful week in family. Thanks Georgio !

Amazing stay in Villa Catarsena!

The estate is very beautiful with large yards, great swimming pool and outdoor lounge areas. The villa is very well equipped and the host Giorgio was flexible to arrange extra beds when needed (we were a very large group with 10 kids+10 adults). We truly enjoyed our week in the villa and did some day trips to the villages close by. If you love old houses with character and value some privacy and space this is the perfect place for you. Can also recommend the Italian dinner in the villa by the local chef. Many thanks again to our host Giorgio, hopefully we will see you again in Villa Catarsena one day!

Outstanding villa

Everything was perfect. Tania and Giorgio were kind and very considerate hosts. The villa has been beautifully restored with care, amazing taste with all the furnishings selected to compliment the building and the surroundings. Week in Bibbiena

We were with 11 adults en 3 children for a week in the nice, spacious and well located villa in Bibbiena. We enjoyed the swimmingpool and the nature around the villa. The kitchen was well equipped, and every evening we took all together the dinners outside on the terrace. Thank you Giorgia and Tanya for our splendid holidays.

Traumurlaub im Casentino

Die Villa ist ein wunderschönes historisches Gebäude, traumhaft gelegen in der weiten und ruhigen Landschaft des Casentino. Mit ihrer Geräumigkeit und den vielen verzweigten und schön eingerichteten Zimmern war sie der ideale Aufenthaltsort für unseren 3-Generationen-Urlaub: Genug Platz, um zusammen zu sein oder sich auch aus dem Weg zu gehen, eine Küche mit allem, was man braucht, ein großer Garten mit vielen Sitzgelegenheiten, dazu der angenehm erwärmte Pool und nicht zuletzt die nette und zuvorkommende Betreuung durch unsere Gastgeber: Es passte einfach alles.. Es waren 10 wundervolle und unvergessliche Tage in der Villa Catarsena. Grazie mille a Giorgio, Tania, Leone e Merlot

Beautiful, capacious property with helpful hosts in a lovely less traveled region of Tuscany

Villa Catarsena was a perfect base of operations for our group of 9 adults on our 10 day visit to the Casentino valley at the headwaters of the Arno. The property sits 4 miles outside of Bibbiena on the road to La Verna, the spectacular clifftop abbey at the site where St. Francis of Assissi reportedly received his saintly stigmata. The villa grounds were a bit more rustic than they appeared in photos, but this was more than compensated by the villa interior. Rooms are large, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The Kitchen, which we used each day, was quite capable, and accommodated a chef to prepare three dinners over our stay. Each bedroom has a well functioning bathroom, and overall the villa could have accommodated 12-14 guests easily. Finally, the hosts Giorgio and Tonya, and their friendly dog Leone were fabulous; knowledgeable, available, solicitous, but not intrusive. They helped us to arrange a pizza night using their cavelike woodfired oven and assisted with the challenges of traveling during Covid. Bibbiena is within striking distance of Florence, Sienna and Montepulciano, but the real value of this location is the local terrain, and culture away from tourist pressure. In addition to spectacular La Verna we visited Poppi and its castle, and rode e-bikes extensively around the hilly region with beautiful beech forests. Overall, highly recommended!

Ein wunderschönes Anwesen in der Toskana ! Reichlich Platz im Haus, ein toller Garten, ein Pool, der direkt zum Reinspringen einlädt. Wir waren mit 10 Erwachsenen und einem Kleinkind dort und hätten uns keine bessere Unterkunft vorstellen können! Die Kommunikation mit dem Gastgeber lief stets reibungslos, das Objekt ist nur zu empfehlen !

We hebben een heel fijne reis gehad in een mooi, ruim huis. Heel mooi zwembad. Vriendelijke eigenaars.Wij waren wel niet op de hoogte dat de eigenaar ook in het pand woonde. Dus dat was wel even aanpassen voor ons.

Idyllic Tuscan Villa

Giorgio’s villa was everything we could hope for and more. Stunning setting, beautiful villa, every amenity we could need and more. Giorgio and Tanya were the perfect hosts and nothing was too much trouble - extra pool towels, fans, booking a chef and beauty treatments, and a delicious homemade cake! We were made to feel so welcome despite being a big group with 7 young children. The villa is a few km outside Bibbiena and tricky to find the first time, and you will definitely need a car. But the rural scenery is beautiful, the pool, gardens and outside dining / lounging areas were a delight (do bring mosquito repellent though!) Inside the house is huge - 3 separate lounges, a big dining room and all the bedrooms are very generous and decorated to suit the period property. Can’t recommend this place highly enough, a truly wonderful holiday location.

Traumvilla im Casentino

Giorgio, Tania und Leone (der Cocker Spaniel) sind wunderbare Gastgeber. Die Villa ist traumhaft, mit parkartigem Garten und tollen Pool. Die Villa ist eine architektonische Antiquität, deren dicke Wände auch an heißesten Tagen für ein angenehmes Klima im Haus sorgen. Die Küche ist vollständig eingerichtet und verfügt über absolut ausreichend Besteck und Geschirr. Im Haus lebt man mit Antiquitäten - das muss man mögen, wir genossen es sehr. Das Anwesen bietet viel Platz, um sich aus dem Wege zu gehen oder auch zusammen zu sein. Man hat immer die Wahl zwischen Sonne und Schatten. Wir würden die Villa unseren Freunden jederzeit empfehlen und bei einem nächsten Urlaub im Casentino sofort wieder anfragen. Grazie mille a Giorgio, Tania e Leone

Fantastic villa in the Tuscan hills

We had a fantastic 2 week stay in this large, spacious villa. Family and friends came and joined us to help fill the space. The swimming pool was excellent, very clean and the perfect temperature, lots of space around the pool to laze or play games. The rooms are all a good size and kept comfortably cool so no problems with no air conditioning. The weather was amazing and we enjoyed many an evening eating outside and socialising until the early hours, there is no-one near by to complain about the noise. The owner who was on-site was extremely welcoming and helpful, happy to give advice when needed (English is quite good). We loved having a chef come to the villa to cook us a traditional 4 course meal which everyone enjoyed and would definitely recommend. The villa is extremely well equipped with a washing machine and iron and board so no need to over pack, the only thing it lacked was any pool towels. I would highly recommend this villa for large families or group get togethers.

A warm welcome, followed by careful attention throughout our 2 week stay by our hosts Giorgio and Tanya Montini, was exceptional. There was fruit, honey, olive oil (from the farm) and a rice salad waiting for us, and during our stay we had a memorable pizza-making evening using the pizza oven, helped by Giorgio. The large pool was well maintained and we spent many happy hours in it. The villa was clean and comfortable with plenty of space for us all. We appreciated having a good wifi connection and plenty of shaded outdoor areas. Thank you Giorgio and Tanya for you kindness and generosity. LorraineB
