The apartment is located in the old part of the Mirivilla neighborhood (built on the site of a former mining area); it’s the most unpretentious, cosmopolitan, peaceful, and quiet area, so you’ll be able to sleep soundly through the night. A 5-minute walk away is the San Antón Bridge, which provides access to the Old Town and the Rivera Market (Gastro Plaza). Points of interest in the neighborhood: OLD QUARTER - San Antonio Nursery: A beautiful Modernist building constructed in 1912, featuring a sculptural group by Federico Sáenz on its façade. It was created to provide daycare services for the children of day laborers, and today it continues to serve that same purpose. - Casa de Socorro de Urazurrutia: Located on the pier of the same name, it was inaugurated in 1914. The devastating effects of the 1983 floods rendered it unusable for providing medical care; subsequently, for a few years, the building served as a center for cultural activities. - The urban art is particularly noteworthy, as seen in the eye-catching trompe-l’œil paintings and murals that adorn walls and facades, bringing color and joy to the neighborhood. ÁREA NUEVA - Bilbao Arena Multipurpose Sports Arena: Construction was completed in 2010. With a capacity of 8,500 spectators, it is one of the most modern and cutting-edge venues in our country, hosting top-level sporting events of major significance, as well as concerts by internationally renowned bands and soloists, as well as other artistic and entertainment shows and fairs. - Casa del Deporte and Bizkaia Fronton: Opened in 2011. With nearly 3,000 seats, it is the largest handball fronton in Spain. It also houses a trinquete court, a form of pelota typical of the Basque Country. - Train Station Elevators: The Miribilla train station, located 50 meters underground, is the deepest in all of Spain. It is accessible via 6 panoramic elevators, each with a capacity of 21 people, which travel the 50 meters down to the station in just 30 seconds.
