Yes, room was clean and receptionist was courteous.
Bryan and em were amazing so friendly an kind breakfast was amazing and em makes the best cuppa.
Cant wait to come back an see them again thank you for everything x
great hotel, 5 dads and lads (5 year olds)
made the kids feel welcome, gave them flags, let them play on pool table etc.
pubs decent, fairly big. rooms fairly basic but comfy, just what you need for a one night stay.
we got uber to and from villa park, £5 for 4 seater ew.
only negative is the area around the hotel possibly not the nicest spot and when we stayed there no private parking so have to park on the road and it fairly busy so we had to park a fair way from the hotel
Myself and my daughter had a very pleasant stay, the highlights for us was the personal, friendly service from the family throughout our stay. The pub has a nice atmosphere with a community feel. The beds and bedroom was very comfortable, although bare in mind there is several floors of stairs and there is only on the road parking. Very close to birmingham city centre and star city by car. Only difficulty we experienced was that the walls are paperthin and our neighbours were slamming doors and talking very loudly for some time past 11pm so this did affect the quality of our sleep but that isnt the owners fault and can happen in any accommodation. An improvement would be black out curtains as the blind didnt keep much light out. The shower was lovely and warm and good pressure and the little toiletries were perfectly adequate for us
Check in was a breeze, Bryan checked our photo id,took our payment then explained about access after hours and directed us to our room.
We had booked a room with 2 single beds and found it to be very clean and comfortable, not the biggest of rooms but we were only sleeping there so didn't bother us in the slightest.
Returned about half ten to a karaoke night in the down stairs function room where bryan invited us to join in but we didn't.
Had a couple of very reasonably priced drinks and listened to the very talented participants of the karaoke.
The following morning had a beautiful English breakfast again very reasonably priced.
All in all a great no frills hotel , clean and tidy with a great welcome.
Definitely get what you pay for…maybe less.
The place is quite run down. The windows are filthy and do not keep the noise of the busy road out and let in a draft.
We could feel every spring on the mattress and ended up having to strip the bed, flip the mattress(which did not have a protector and was stained) and put the duvet under the sheet to get a bit more comfort.
The bar must have been directly below us and had very loud music until 12.45am.
The en-suite was basic but clean, could have done with towel rails.
There is no parking and had to find a space way up the road.
On a positive note Staff were friendly and helpful.

You get what you pay for.
Be aware that there is no parking at this hotel, whilst it says street parking the local residents park everywhere and block off spots in front of their houses, so you have to drive around a bit to find a spot and its all hills so having to walk your bags back up is a bit tiresome.
Check in process was easy and straightforward.
The room itself was very small for 2 people but manageable. One of the beds was comfortable enough but the other was very uncomfortable. There was a surprise in the bathroom with padded toilet seats, never in my life have I seen that before!
Our major issue was the temperature, it was freezing and for the life of us we couldn't get the 1 radiator to work, admittedly we didn't go and ask for it to be looked at.
We also had a surprise fire alarm go off at 7:30am on Sunday morning, no idea if it was an accident or a drill, no one came to check on us or inform us what was going on.
There is a back entrance for late night returns to the hotel, we came across a homeless guy who tried to gain entry with us. So there is a slight security issue with that.
Overall if it is a cheap, somewhere to lay your head down at night hotel you need them it does the job, but it isn't somewhere I would recommend.
Our stay was 3 nights, we were welcomed by Brain at the bar as we checked in, we showed ID then were give room keys, as we walked in our everything was clean & tidy, nice size room, clean sheets & towels, overall we had a great stay, atmosphere was friendly, downstairs in the hotel bar, there was entertainment each night, from Bingo to karaoke. Brain, his wife & sons were kind, helpful & very easy to approach. We had a lovely stay, would definitely recommend, specially for the price, we will be booking in again soon!

Walked in and walked out. I could bring myself to sleep there
Absolutely great stay… called after booking to ask about check in as we were at an event in town and would be there before check in and maybe late back… could not fault the response from Brian and his team… absolutely superb service. Rooms are functional and represented excellent value for money. Breakfast was freshly cooked and lovely. If you are after a no frills excellent value for money stay with friendly landlord then you won’t go far wrong.
The staff here were great very helpful and lovely. Was a little disappointed with limited onsite partying as had to park on a side street quite far from the inn. Other than that was a nice stay.
Easy to find and not far away from the centre of birmingham by bus

Rooms need some TLC. Shabby decor and window doesn’t shut properly so loud road noise can be heard all night. A drinking glass provided would be nice. But worst of all - the music from the pub is so loud, the bass can be properly heard from the bedroom, and continues until at least 11pm/midnight.
