About this property

Cottage Life

  • Welcome to Cottage Life! Our first year of rentals was a success! We have our reviews. We are proud to offer you the chance to experience the beauty of The Bay of Fundy every day. It is breathtaking! We can assure you a clean cottage, A handyman response in case of issues that arise and friendly neighbors who are more than willing to help if asked.
We believe that you get back what you give. Google maps show us about 1 mile away from the Bay of Fundy, This is not the case! We are on (Not in, lol) the Bay with an absolutely stunning view of the Bay and the sunsets over the water.

Our promise to you is a quiet relaxing stay or as hectic as you would like. We are also, as owners, available to you should you need us. Our telephone number is provided.

This cozy retreat offers everything you need: a full kitchen, dining area, living space, and a full bathroom, complemented by a charming winding staircase leading to the upstairs bedrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave , a Keurig or 12 cup coffee maker , perfect for those who prefer a little coffee or a full pot to start their day. The cottage comfortably sleeps everyone with 2 + 1 bedrooms

Enjoy breathtaking views of the Bay of Fundy, home to the world's highest tides—truly a sight to behold. If you’re lucky, you might spot whales, dolphins, seals, or even a massive 500-pound sunfish basking in the bay.

It’s just a short walk to the water and the lighthouse, ideal for peaceful strolls and stunning scenery. For the adventurous, the Black Rock community trails offer over 16 km of well-maintained, signposted hiking and mountain biking paths. With options ranging from easy to challenging, you can choose your own path and immerse yourself in nature.

Entertainment options abound with a DVD player and a large selection of movies. The cottage features high-speed 5G fiber optic internet, and the Smart TV allows you to mirror cast your favorite programs.

The Annapolis Valley is a wine lover’s paradise, with numerous wineries just a short drive away. During harvest season, you can also enjoy self-picking strawberries, blueberries, peaches, and, of course, apples. Why not make a day of touring the vineyards and savoring the local flavors?

The cottage is available for weekly rentals only, with Saturday check-in at 4 p.m. and check-out at 11 a.m. We maintain a very clean cottage. This is why we only have weekly rentals. Our housekeeper is wonderful. But she isn't free! Very short term rentals will not cover the cost of her help. Booking of less than five days will be charged the full five day fee.

Located near Berwick, Kentville, and New Minas, the property is close to numerous attractions, including whale-watching tours, golf courses, and a children’s amusement park. The famous Harbourville Fish Market is just a short drive away, offering fresh seafood—including lobster. (Fun fact: In July 2024, we saw a lobster as big as a Jack Russell terrier for just $75!)

Nature lovers will adore the wildlife—don’t be surprised if a mother deer and her fawns stroll past your window. And the night sky? Absolutely breathtaking over the bay. On rare occasions, you might even witness an approaching thunderstorm rolling in from New Brunswick.

Halifax is just an hour away, as well as Lunenburg and the lovely town of Mahone Bay. If you visit Halifax, be sure to explore the scenic waterfront trail, lined with eateries and shops offering unique mementos of your trip. Pier 21 is a spot should should consider visiting. It offer s unique experience on how Canada's immigration worked in the early days. You can also take a guided tour of the Governor’s official residence and witness the Changing of the Guard ceremony.

Lunenburg is another must-visit destination, boasting charming eateries and curio shops. While in Halifax, a short drive will take you to Peggy’s Cove, one of the most iconic and picturesque spots in the province. From there it is just a short drive to Mahone Bay a beautiful and historic town. If you’re looking for some family fun, there’s a fantastic water park near Halifax to cool off and enjoy the summer sun.

In other words, there’s no shortage of things to do—whether you’re looking for adventure, culture, or just pure relaxation!

Whether you’re savoring a quiet moment on the upper deck with a cup of tea or your favorite beverage, or taking in the equally stunning view from the lower deck, this is the perfect place to unwind and recharge. With a "rush hour" of only four cars an hour, serenity and calm are assured.

We loved the cottage! John was a gracious host and very responsive. The location is amazing with fantastic views and easy access to the Annapolis Valley. We loved nearby Harbouville and had the best fishcakes of our trip there.

We had a lovely time at this property. Outstanding View of the Bay of Fundy. Easy access to all amenities. The Neighbors Cliff and Alice were very kind and informative. If you're staying with friends the only draw back is the bedrooms. Although there are three they are all interconnected there is virtually no privacy. You can hear everything and once again there is no privacy LOL. Nevertheless we were with family so everything's acceptable but if you're with friends and they have privacy issues it may be a thing.

We had a wonderful family vacation at this beautiful cottage! Good communication, very clean, great location, and an unbeatable view. Close to groceries, supplies, and fresh seafood. We were sad to leave! We would definitely book again if we’re in the area.

This has been, hands down, our favorite place that we stayed at on our adventure. The place was super clean and stocked with everything we could imagine needing. The host was very responsive to any questions that we had. I would recommend this to others.
