Welcome to Brún, an architect-designed villa in Laugarás where Iceland’s great outdoors meets the comfort of a home made for time together. With four bedrooms, two bathrooms and space for up to 12 guests, Brún gives family and friends a place to explore, unwind and share the moments in between.

WALK TO LAUGARÁS LAGOON

Make a lagoon visit part of your holiday without another drive. Approximately ten minutes on foot from Brún, Laugarás Lagoon offers a relaxing bathing experience beside the Hvítá river.

Spend an afternoon in the warm water, or pair your visit with a meal at Ylja, the lagoon’s restaurant, featuring ingredients from local farms and greenhouses. Afterwards, stroll home to the comfort and privacy of your own villa.

Lagoon admission and dining are booked separately from your accommodation.

RIVER VIEWS, FROM MORNING TO NIGHT

Start the day with coffee overlooking the river. Watch the changing Icelandic light through floor-to-ceiling windows. Settle into the living room after a day outdoors, with the landscape still all around you.

Brún’s generous windows and open living spaces make the view part of your stay, whether you are sharing breakfast, reading a book or enjoying a quiet evening together.

YOUR PRIVATE HOT TUB AND TERRACE

Some days call for exploring. Others call for staying exactly where you are.

Your private outdoor hot tub seats up to eight people at a time, with river views and space to relax after a day of waterfalls and countryside walks. The surrounding terrace has a barbecue and comfortable outdoor seating, while a lawn beside the house provides space for children to play.

Enjoy Iceland’s long summer evenings outside, or look up at the night sky during the darker months. When weather and aurora conditions align, you may even see the northern lights from the property.

MADE FOR GATHERING

The spacious kitchen gives everyone room to join in. Long countertops, quality cooking equipment and ample tableware make it easy to prepare anything from a leisurely breakfast to a celebratory dinner.

Cook together, share stories from the day and take your time over a meal. The open layout keeps the conversation flowing between the kitchen and living area, so preparing dinner is part of the evening.

With room to gather and four bedrooms to retreat to, Brún works beautifully for family holidays and time away with friends.

THOUGHTFUL DESIGN, YEAR-ROUND COMFORT

Designed by Icelandic architect Sigurður Ólafur Sigurðsson, Brún combines expansive windows and open spaces with hardwood floors, natural stone and carefully considered lighting.

Underfloor heating makes the house especially welcoming after a crisp winter day. The four bright bedrooms have quality beds, and both bathrooms feature spacious showers and generous countertop space—practical comforts when travelling together.

THE GOLDEN CIRCLE AT YOUR OWN PACE

Stay in the heart of the Golden Circle and give yourself time to enjoy it.

Explore Gullfoss waterfall, the Geysir geothermal area and Þingvellir National Park. Discover Kerið crater and historic Skálholt, or plan a quieter day around the lagoon and a relaxed evening at home.

A base in Laugarás lets you spread your sightseeing across several days, with time for the unexpected stops that often become holiday highlights.

For a longer outing, head towards the South Coast’s waterfalls and dramatic landscapes. Selfoss offers shops, cafés and restaurants for supplies or a meal along the way. We are happy to help you choose outings that suit your group and the season.
