Master bedroom has a soaker tub and 2 way gas fireplace and private bathroom/shower

The home is a walk to Butchart Gardens, public transportation, International Airport (15 minute drive) , Bc Ferries (20 minute drive) , hiking Trails, lakes, Ocean, and a 25 minute walk to the town centre, 5 minute drive. 30 minute drive to Victoria.

This is a well designed country home that is located in a relaxed safe country environment. It is good for couples, business travellers, and families (with kids). This is Country Living, a romantic private residence hidden away from the big city. This is a luxury cottage in a park like setting.

Lovely stay near Butchart garden

Spacious home in quiet neighborhood, with both a front and back porch. Very relaxing-and a pool table for extra fun.

Springtime at Butchart Gardens

The property was as pictured, and in such a good location. The holdbacks on some areas of our experiece was that the bed in the middle bedroom was terribly uncomfortable, the towels were clean-the-car quality, and there were NO signs of life in the kitchen such as condiment packets or a kind note. We often stay in vacation rental homes, and these touches are inexpensive and matter. That said, we will certainly stay here again on future trips to the Island.

Nice Quiet Near Brentwood Bay

Great location for exploring the Saanich peninsula and enjoying the various things to do in and around Victoria. Home was good for 2 couple and accommodates 3 couples too. Definitely would consider staying at this home again.

Refreshing retreat indeed

The house is nested in a quiet neighborhood, perfect for a retreat to the nature with family. It’s spacious for 5 people to stay, clean, simple, and nicely decorated, not tacky at all. The owner responded to our questions promptly. We enjoyed our stay at this house for 4 nights.

Weekend Birthday Getaway

Spent 3 nights here- easily accommodated the 7 of us. Had breakfast in the house each day, didn’t need to search for anything we needed- all readily available. Short ride into Victoria. We had a great time & slept well on the comfy beds.

Amazing property

We had the best start to our time in Canada at this property, it is so convenient for everything on the peninsula, very homely and has everything you would need! The host Seymour is very accommodating and helpful It’s a fabulous house

Really nice house

It was a great house and location to Butchart Gardens. There were a lot of instructions around the house, but as someone with a more complex house, i can see that the host tries to anticipate most problems that might arise.

Perfect family stay

The house was exactly as shown and the owner had thoughtfully stocked it with everything you might need. Our family of 2 grandparents, 3 adult children and 2 little ones had all the space we needed while attending a wedding at a nearby winery and visiting the sights of Victoria. We would highly recommend it.

Great getaway

My husband, my Dad and another couple (close friends) stayed here for a week vacation. It was a fantastic house that we could all visit comfortably but have our own space as well. The kitchen had everything we needed and we made most of our suppers here easily. The pool table and piano were a nice touch. Seymour was easy to communicate with for any issues or questions that came up. The neighborhood was very quiet and beautiful. It acted as a good base camp for our activities around Victoria and up Island. Overall a wonderful place to stay.

Fantastic Stay in Brentwood

What a very comfortable, family friendly house located just minutes from Butchart Gardens and great food. The kitchen was our central gathering spot, as was the dining room table that doubled as a puzzle and gaming table. Our teens loved the pool table and piano. (Our son loved the Apple TV) On our way home we talked about the need to go back to the same house but this time in the summer and bring our bikes and rent some kayaks in the bay. We also would have made better use of the deck furniture if it hadn't been a bit too cool. Best Thanksgiving week ever.

Birthday Trip to Butchart Gardens

This was a three-generation road trip with ultimate destination being a visit to Butchart Gardens. We were able to leave our car at this very comfortable home and walk there, which was a huge plus. The location is excellent, and the neighborhood was very quiet. We spent two nights there, and beds were comfortable for all of us. Note that all three bedrooms are on the second floor, if that is an issue. There is a half bath on the first floor, which was convenient. I do think the master shower would benefit from a good scrubbing of the stone, and kitchen appliances need some maintenance, but that was disclosed in the listing, and did not interfere with our ability to fix our meals. We did not use TV’s or radio or fireplaces, so cannot comment on those. We did avail ourselves to the pool table. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Lovely home, good location

My family of four enjoyed our two night stay at "Castle in the Sky." It is apparent that the owner has spent time caring for the home; the woodwork is beautiful. We were a bit put off by all the instructive labels but having read the reviews, we were expecting it. Our two teenage boys loved the pool table. The home would benefit from some soft touches such as curtains and rugs in some rooms to absorb sound and filter light. The master bedroom was very bright in the morning, making it difficult to sleep in, although sleeping masks were provided. The kitchen was well equipped. The home is a short drive to a grocery store, 3 minutes from Butchart Gardens, about 1/2 hour from Victoria, and about 20 minutes from Sidney. Overall, I recommend this property.

House is nice, but I won’t go back

The house is nice and fairly comfortable. There are a few too many instructions posted everywhere, but I understand wanting to help guests and protect property. Unfortunately, I don’t think he gave me the same protection and respect when we had a problem in the house. I’m also not sure why he can’t get sheets to fit the master bedroom. Apparently both issues were not new to the owner. Others complained before about the sheets, He switched ours out when i mentioned it when I wrote him about the flooding, but the new pair were only a little better, also coming off the mattress corners. The bigger issue was the flood of water from the shower pouring through the smoke alarm to the main floor. I slipped on the water, but fortunately did not fall. We wiped up the floor collected a gallon or two of water and put out a collection pot. I requested that the owner come and fix the problem when we’re leaving the house shortly. Instead, he came right over (guess he lives on the property), didn’t ask for me, and told my son and dtr in law “to monitor the problem.” Hearing this, I told him I thought it should be fixed, not monitored. He said that there was nothing he could do, but if it got “really bad, he could do something.” He said there were only a few drops in the pot, true, but I’d already emptied a large glass bowl and mopped up a gallon or more of water. After he left my dtr said he told her it’d happened before, but not for a while. I was not happy w this. IMHO it was really bad

Good time spent

We spent quality time with my family. We had fun exploring around the neighborhood. Were very surprised to see jelly fish in the bay. House was warm, clean and equipped with all basic things needed.
