"The gite was super clean with comfortable beds. A lot of thought has been put into the layout. I really appreciated that ventilation had been put into the kitchen and downstairs bedroom, meaning that damp wasn't an issue, as it can sometimes be in old properties. The garden is fantastic, with half shade, half sun and there is garden furniture for both eating and relaxing. One thing to note is that wi-fi isn't available in the gite itself. Wi-fi is available in the owners' hotel, next door. Any enquiries were answered almost immediately by the owners - excellent communication."

"Not what expected We booked one night as a stop on our way in the area, and we booked it due to its location and some very good reviews, however it was such a disappointment. The hotel itself is just as expected, a 3 star hotel with noticeable efforts of a recent renovation i.e. wallpaper, new curtains. Still showing signs of older tired days - out of date shower, dated hallway carpet, but in all fairness, clean in general. What was quite unpleasantly surprising was the lack of hospitality of the person in reception, perhaps the owner? We never felt unwelcome anywhere else before, so this was a shock. She was more preoccupied with tending to the restaurant guests than to the hotel clients, barely talked to us and had to chase her for information. It begged the question, how can someone working in hospitality be so unhospitable ? No mention of breakfast, the hotel amenities, no question on how our stay was, absolutely nothing! She behaved, in our opinion as a family, extremely unwelcoming and in parts rude. We did not try any of the other amenities due to such an unwelcoming atmosphere. The room was spacious enough, but very hot at night time. And no air conditioning, no nets to avoid getting bitten by flies if you chose to sleep with your windows opened. No view from the room either, looking onto the back yard where a lovely dog was resting. Overall, a memorable stay but not a positive one. Never using this hotel again! "

"We had a wonderful holiday at Gîte Poiriers!The communication was excellent, and Francine and Bruno gave us a very friendly welcome with delicious cookies and a lovely bottle of rosé. Everything we needed for a pleasant stay was provided: the garden is nice and spacious, and there was plenty of play equipment (balls, ping-pong table, pétanque, hammock).The swimming pool is also excellent, and it can be neatly enclosed for small children. The kitchen is also fully equipped. It's a charming gîte with beautiful authentic details.A perfect place to completel unwind!"

Gîte Le Flamboyant Montreuil Bellay

"This was our first trip to the Loire Valley and we chose this place based on the photos and description of the apartment. What we did not realize is that it's a bit far from many of the places we wanted to see and during the days we were there, which were a Sunday - Tuesday, many restaurants are closed, so not many dining options. We ended up cooking for ourselves one night. The other item not apparent from the pictures and description is that the outdoor area, which is very nice, is not on the same level as the apartment. The patio is on the ground floor, then there is a tight spiral staircase up to the living, dining, and kitchen area. Then another spiral staircase up to the bedrooms. So you just need to be aware of this when it comes to hauling luggage upstairs. The beds and furniture was comfortable. But there were not any bath towels available. We were provided extra hand towels for this reason and the towels are not very thick or soft."
