Perfect Family Getaway

We had a wonderful time staying at the Cliff House. The cabin was the perfect size for my family of four. The views were beautiful! We spent a lot of time at Beavers Bend State Park swimming, hiking, and fishing. Coming home to the Cliff House was the icing on the cake to a perfect day.

Delightful

Spent the weekend there with my family. Excellent communication with the property owners. The drive to the cabin had some pretty vistas. The cabin is perfect! It was clean and cozy. We loved watching the sunrise from inside the cabin in the mornings. Stargazing on the deck at night. Shower had great water pressure and good hot water. It was a perfect escape from the city. We will definitely be back! Only thing to point out, there are hunters in the woods. We weren’t aware of that and the sounds of gun shots in the distance were jarring.

The view was postcard perfect. Great ambiance. Yes, follow instructions on the vehicles for driving on the rough road. No trouble with our Jeep. Do recommend to bring a bath mat as the floor is slick.

Unplugged

Much needed trip! They are not lying when they said you need an SUV but a 4X4 might be better! Once we got up to the cabin we stayed there for 3 days just doing puzzles and spending time together unplugged! The view was spectacular! Great communication so thank you!

Excellent communication and support

Our generator broke down, which is very rare, and the owner was in constant contact and had someone there to fix it before our power ran out. Stuff like this can happen anywhere, but the way that it was dealt with was excellent, they really have your back here.

Insanely Beautiful

If you’re looking for peace, serenity, nature.. THIS is for you! Several miles off of the main road! An amazing and scenic drive all the way up to Cliffhouse. The views are just unmatched. We had a storm roll in on our last day there- and watching the trees swaying was incredibly beautiful! Sunrises and sunsets are just… unbelievable. “Pretty as a picture” doesn’t even do Justice! IT IS TRULY INCREDIBLE! The cabin was very clean, well maintained, wifi worked perfectly- even after we lost power from the storm. Well accommodated and had everything needed! We will absolutely never forget the Cliffhouse and absolutely will come back. We visited the Beavers Bend Mining Company and also the Petting Zoo/Rescue next door! Also incredible experiences! Don’t forget to pull over and get an extra long corn dog! Cool place! Thanks Ya’ll! - The Woods Farmersville TX

Close but missing a few ingredients

The cabin nails it for the view, peace and quiet. The drive in was fine even in the rain. We drove a Honda Pilot. We had a number of challenges. When we arrived the cleaning crew was still there and were there for a couple hours. The host did refund us half the cleaning fee. We lost power while we were there and the generator did not come on. The host was quick to respond and did fix the issue. The fridge was not cleaned out. There was half filled pasta sauce jars and other food items. There was also no coffee filters or coffee which was stated would be. The shower had no toiletries at all. No soap shampoo etc. The biggest thing to be aware of was the accommodations. We originally booked for five people, which is the maximum number of people they said it could accommodate. My son decided to travel with friends so we ended up with four. But the place is really best for two or three. There is no table inside. The bar has room for only 4 stools. The outdoor table has a four person bar height table and chairs. The fire pit only has two chairs and a make shift bench. The living room has an IKEA chair and a couch. The couch was the really odd choice. It faces an amazing view, but only seats two people because it has a console in the middle for cups and a compartment. If you have a wife or significant other you can’t actually snuggle up to the person. You spend the trip sitting apart and if you have more than 3 people you have to rotate who gets a chair. The view was spectacular.

Hidden gem away from everyday stress

This is truly a place to get away from it all and feel/enjoy nature at its best. The cabin is marvelous, cozy with everything you need. The AC works like a champ and the glorious morning sunrise that greets you through the huge windows definitely won’t let you oversleep. We cooked every night and had most everything we needed and the kitchen counter table does accommodate 5 people with 5 barstools. We did bring two fold up stadium bag armchairs which was perfect for the main room since the couch and large chair provided will seat 3 people. My teens loved the ship ladder up to loft and were thrilled there was wifi. The only hiccup was the last bit of of the actual driveway up but we found an easy solution. The first 30 minutes off of the main road is fine and just as described so no problems. Since we weren’t certain our older Lexus RX 350 could maneuver safely up the loose rocks on the actual driveway without damaging the underneath, to be safe, we just parked the car at base of driveway(there is still room for another vehicle to pass by to the other cabins) and we easily walked up the short driveway hill to find the cabin right at the top. This is definitely an option for those of you worried about smaller vehicles with lower ground clearance and not having experience with driving off-road like us. My parents are older and were able to walk up the driveway hill just fine. Thank you for a wonderful change of scenery and a breathtaking view!

Absolutely Breathtaking

My family and I had a great time staying at the cliff house. The view off the deck and looking out the large windows was truly spectacular. We even enjoyed a short lightning storm one night. Our stay was very relaxing and we’ll definitely be back for another stay. Owners were very nice and helpful regarding our questions.
