"Very poor experience at the Cambria. The upstairs restaurant was closed for private events both of the nights we were there. Worse, the music coming from the street/bars on the the pool side of the property was so loud at night that the window in my 12th floor room was shaking. I was not warned of this in advance, and was never offered a room on the quiet side of the building (facing the freeway). I couldn't sleep, even with earplugs in. I called down to the desk asking for help and their only response was that "Austin is a party and music city, so it's loud on that side of the building, but the bars will close at 2am". I asked to be moved to another room and they refused. They offered me no solution and no accommodations whatsoever. I asked to speak to a manager, twice, and nobody responded. Truly unacceptable. "

"Check in was flawless. This hotel has a fragrance that is so memorable and I wish I could immerse myself in it. It’s not heavy, it’s clean and iconic. Diana greeted us at check in and she was simply amazing. I had booked a king size room with at random on accident that was ADA compliant. She offered a walk in shower option that we enjoyed much more, the room overlooked the pool. We had stayed here years ago when they first opened for our anniversary and they have remained consistent in their attention to detail. We had a concert to attend and that was our reason for going to Austin. However, staying at the Fairmount is a treat, it’s an event within itself. We ordered room service for breakfast and it was perfection. This is my absolute favorite hotel and I travel often. I can’t wait to return and I know the people and the service will be just the way I fondly remember it. I miss it already! Thank you!!"

"Front desk staff was fine. The other staff within the hotel is lacking. The poolside bar staff was pretty rude. The guy argued with me about what I ordered … even when he turned out to be wrong he was still rude. Coffee shop staff also give off the air that they would rather pour coffee on you than for you. We have stayed at this location a few times and probably will start staying somewhere else. It’s a great location and the pool is heated and peaceful but we’re tired of dealing with employees that make our stay unpleasant. "

"Tremendous noise problem if your room is on the front roadway, provided noise machine and ear plugs notwithstanding. Hotel shows some wear in rooms. Staff routinely provide less than complete answers to simple questions. Valet pretty quick must times."

"Hotel was nice, breakfast was lovely, lots of choice. Handy location. Baffles me that you can pay so much for a hotel though and have to pay $50 for parking. Considering every Texan drives everywhere, they must be raking it in with parking fees. As a Brit, I can honestly say I’ve never paid for parking as an overnight guest at a hotel"
