We stopped to see the famous ceremonial pulpit of Punxsutawney Phil, the mythical groundhog in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. We have all seen Bill Murray in Groundhog Day but the ceremony of Phil's prognostication does not actually take place in town like the movie suggests but two miles east of town at the unusually named Gobblers Knob. The Movie was actually not even filmed in Punxsutawney but in Woodstock, Illinois. The Groundhog Day celebration has its in Celtic tradition. Clean and quiet! If you're not looking for frills, the Brookville Inn has clean, confortable rooms at economical prices. Plus, a free breakfast. Again, nothing fancy, but it was perfect for my stay during Clarion's ALF/Homecoming. Front desk staff also very courteous, professional and accommodating.

We stayed at this location a couple of years ago because of the affordability. At that time it was not great but the price was right. Now it has gotten worse and the price has increased. The shower was not clean and the carpet in the room was dirty. The whole place has gone downhill.

Queen bed room is on the third floor, and no elevator. The front desk man is very nice and replace a two beds room on the first floor to me with $10 dollar gap. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable.
