The hotel was in an excellent location. The breakfast was excellent and there was a lot of options. The only problem I had there was an extra charge for parking your car.
Hotel property was very clean. While breakfast wasn’t included you did get a $10 coupon for each day you were there so that helped. We ate dinner two nights in the restaurant and it was good! Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Initially we were given an occupied room which was quickly amended with an upgrade to a higher floor with a beautiful view of the lake. Location was excellent for walking to town and the university.
We really enjoyed the location of this hotel as it was only a short walk to the harbor. Also, the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful in securing our bicycles for our stay.
The coffee machines on each floor are such a nice touch and the coffee is tasty! The rooms are clean, and astetically pleasing. The artwork in the rooms are eye catching with the local lake champlain vibe. This was our second time staying at Hotel Champlain in the last couple years and will return the next time we're in town.
My only critique for the decor or rather the ambiance would be the lighting in common areas was too bright! I so wanted to locate the dimmer switch. Other than that the hotel layout was well thought out and the location was excellent! We look forward to our next stay!
This is a fabulous place to stay! Such great amenities and we loved the on site restaurant

Disliked: Amenities
Not sure if it’s the area but this hotel seems expensive for what it is especially with the extra local fees added at the hotel! It is in a nice location near the lake and a walkable distance from restaurants. Room was comfortable but no coffee facilities in the room - you have to walk down the corridor to fetch it (not ideal first thing in the morning). The coffee machine there wasn’t brilliant & cold water tap broken. We ate lunch at the cafe in the hotel on a rainy day and it was pretty poor - service station quality at best. No pool or hot tub.
This is a great hotel location and beautiful property. The view from our room window was gorgeous. The only thing that wasn’t exceptional was the check in.
It’s really missing the mark on a warm welcome and professional service. The check in was awkward and long for no apparent reason. We actually felt like we were putting the person out for having to check us in. Our stay was good overall and we would stay again.
The room was nice and the lake view was great. The bathroom was tight and the lighting in the whole room was a bit dark. Overall, the desk staff were fine. There’s music in the on site restaurant that carries through the lobby.
