My third time staying. The location is excellent, I walked the dog on the path to the lighthouse. Easy trip across the street to excellent beach access. I love that I can bring my greyhound. They have all the necessities and the AC worked, so not one complaint from me.

Always a pleasure to stay here. It’s nothing fancy, but staff is always friendly and accommodating, rooms always clean, beds comfortable. Location is great - near the light, beaches, and good food. I stay here everytime I come down.

The staff was very friendly and incredibly helpful with rearranging dates for our stay. The room was incredibly clean and the extra amenities (fish cleaning station, ice machine) were wonderful additions. Kids loved the pool!

The property is excellent for families. Location in walking distance to local eateries, mini golf, ice cream trucks and beach. This location offered free kayaks, paddle boats, and lots of toys at pool side. Access to grills, ice machines, washer and dryer and fish cleaning station. We enjoyed our trip and shared with family!

I enjoyed my stay here. The motel is old, but well cared for. It reminded me of an old motor court, as the rooms were all on the same row, one story, where you could park right in front of your room. The rooms still use a key, but they were spacious, quiet and clean. The bed was comfortable and I really like the pool. There were lots of places within walking distance. I was disappointed with the bikes that were available, as they were all rusted and hard to ride. The beach was a 5 minute walk and not accessible due to all the work being done to repair storm damage. This is a bare bones place, but I enjoyed my stay.

The Swell Motel was swell! It is an older hotel so don’t expect perfection. The room was clean. The staff is friendly. It was quiet and family friendly. It was close to everything. One thing I appreciated was they offered everything that you could possibly need at no additional cost from pool toys/floats to bikes and kayaks. I would stay here again!

I love staying here for short trips! The staff are so friendly and helpful with local recommendations and the room is always clean and so cute! The only minor issue I have personally come across is the road leading into the motel, but otherwise one of the best places in all of the OBX!

It felt like staying at a friend's house. I arrived Sat eve, and found out they have music "most" Saturdays. I had a room with a kitchenette, stocked with coffee, creamer and sugar, the air-conditioner kept the room comfortable. The hot water never ran out. Everyone was lovely and I felt welcomed in like family. I'm planning on returning
