A heated pool was a must for my husband and I's 6 week winter get away from MN cold. We ruled out several other properties that didn't have heated pools. The day after we arrived, we got wind from a neighbor that the pool heater wasn't working and unless the condo owners wanted to pay, would not be repaired. When we questioned our host, (not voluntarily informed by them) we were informed that they couldn't afford to fix it. We were told we could leave and be refunded for UNUSED days. After checking around, we couldn't find anyplace open for 6 weeks for last minute booking. The pool never got above 75 degrees as long as we were there and I asked for some type of refund as we didn't get what we contracted for. I received a text from the host, obviously not intended for me. It said" She's F___#ing at it again!" When the electricity was turned off for non payment by the owners (I'm not making this up) a couple of days later, Sandro, the property manager said he would see we get a refund of an agreed on amount of about $10.00 per day. When we didn't get the refund, I asked when to expect it. Sandro said the owners wanted to wait to be sure we left the property in good shape!! We did, of course, being responsible adults who honor their commitments and having a strong history of being good renters with VRBO. That was 6 days ago and despite asking both the hosts and manager, we have had no refund or even had even the courtesy of a response!
There were small issues with the cleanliness of the frig, oven, and drawers that I mentioned on arrival that were never even acknowledged. Altogether, there seemed to be no concern for guest satisfaction.
