"This is a really nice hotel near the center of town (although not near any tourist sites). The rooms are great, the staff is friendly and helpful. It's near the Metro. The usually-included breakfast has a good variety of Brazilian and other western dishes, although during "rush hour" they are not replaced as often when emptied, and the fruit "juices" are not actual pressed fruit, but oversweet processed varieties. "I am giving 1 star because the employees of the hotel are kind. As soon as we entered the room there was a dead cockroach on top of the sink. The television did not work at all in the first room and the smell in the hall if you have any type of allergy, do not go. On the second day I went to complain and on our way down the elevator stopped. We talked to the receptionist and she moved us to a different room. "Very slow check-in, even though we have been there before and even though we live on the island close to Salvador. Very long examination of IDs, cell phone numbers..."

"The place is great, but there was a really strong smell of sewage coming from our bathroom. I advised they fix that or not rent the 112 room to other people. We had to keep the door closed the whole time, but it was hard to use the bathroom when we needed it."
