Start your mornings with coffee on the porch as sunlight filters through the pines. Spend the day hiking your own wooded trails, wandering down to the river, or simply enjoying the stillness that comes from having no neighbors in sight. In summer, it’s all about sun, fresh air, and long, quiet days. In winter, snowmobiles pass nearby and the cabin becomes a warm, cozy retreat from the cold.

Inside, the cabin feels rustic yet comfortable. Vaulted ceilings open up the living space, where a wood stove invites you to settle in with a book, board games, or a movie from the DVD collection. The kitchen is well stocked for real cooking, making shared meals easy and unhurried. Bedrooms are cozy and dark at night, perfect for deep, restful sleep.

Please note this is a true off-grid, solar-powered cabin experience. There is no WiFi at the property, and cell service may be limited depending on your carrier. Electricity is typically reliable, but guests should be comfortable conserving power as part of the unplugged mountain experience.

Evenings are best spent outside by the fire pit, watching the stars appear overhead and listening to the sounds of the woods. And when you’re ready for a taste of civilization, the town of Canaan—with restaurants, groceries, and even ice cream—is just a short drive away.

This is a place for quiet mornings, slow evenings, and a kind of peace that’s hard to find anymore.

This is a dog-friendly home, and we love hosting well-behaved pups! To keep the space comfortable for all guests, only dogs are permitted (no cats or other pets).

Please let us know in advance if you’ll be bringing a dog, and be sure to add them to the reservation, as the pet fee applies per dog. Any additional dogs must be approved in advance.

Please note that this home has stairs throughout the property. Guests should use caution when using the stairs, especially children and anyone with mobility concerns.
