"There were pluses and minuses about The Venice Times. Though they let us check in a little bit earlier, the room we were given was small - you couldn't move without bumping into furniture, and it was very dark. The bathroom had a curtain instead of an actual door. Based on my experience and the type of amenities my husband and I usually stay at, I reached out to the hotel the next morning and phoned Expedia too for help. I have to say I was impressed that the staff at Venice Times was able to accommodate me and move me to a room in the same category, but it was night and day different from the 1st. The pluses are that the staff at The Venice Times is wonderful, and they work hard to try to fulfill their guests' requests. If you are considering staying at this property, choose a better room category. Other than the room issue, the location was great, and it was super easy to get to all the different parts of the city."

"The location was excellent, as it was close to the bus and train stations, so you didn't need to depend on water taxies or water buses. The main drawback was two high levels of steps -- difficult with suitcases. The staff was friendly."

"Staff unhelpful, actually quite rude. Lift was helpful, but still had to go up and down stairs to reach room. Room was musty and bathroom needs updating- fixtures old. Good thing only there for 1 night. Only plus was bed was comfortable and close proximity to train station, otherwise international travelers should stay elsewhere."

"Book elsewhere for better experience. Upon checking in (early evening) the staff was rather rushed to get us our room key and out of her way. Not overly kind. This property is very far away from the main entry bridge. When we entered the room it appeared the cleaning crew forgot to clean out the ice box from the prior guests stay…. Old pizza, bottle’s, and food waste smudged all over it. The room was gorgeous, high ceilings, the bed was comfortable, but the room was in poor shape. The toilet seat was completely off the toilet, the baseboard was partially falling off the walls, and the heating element fell off the wall. It almost appeared that this hotel was so comfortable being average they didn’t want to earn your future business after your initial booking. We stayed two nights here and both nights no maintenance occurred when we asked for it. The breakfast is below average and the staff needs formal training to compete with the areas other venues. This is our 3rd time in venice and we can suggest two other properties that want your business far more than this hotel. Important to mention in closing, we requested some consideration from the hotel by means of a partial refund for the poor stay and they declined. Totally their right, they were booked solid, we slept there…but future bookings will be elsewhere and guests should consider other options in a town filled with hotels that truly want to early your favor and glowing review. Buyer beware."

"We love this hotel. It’s in a great location, far away from tourist central but in easy reach of the airport and amenities. The breakfast is great and when they open the outside courtyard it really is a little haven. The staff are always very friendly and can’t be more helpful. Highly recommended. It isn’t super luxurious but is just a great place, calm and unflustered."

"Booked a triple room for three people. It was so small we could hardly move around the beds. Only two had room to open our suitcases. The third had to put his on the bed to open it when he needed something out of it. Otherwise he kept it between the bed and the window."

"We stayed in a twin room, which was very small, with no room between beds. Bathroom was very small. Room was clean. Staff and their service was excellent. Breakfast was varied and plentiful Good location…close to the train station, shops and cafes/restaurants. Also near a water bus stop"
