They had a group of kids (6 to 8) in the lobby that were not always being monitored by an adult except through an outside window. They were running around barefoot and yelling. It was difficult to enjoy visiting with family. It took the counter person a long time to address the issue. Very disturbing and unsafe. If I was a customer walking in to get a room I would’ve walked out. I have stayed at this property before and have had good experiences but this made me rethink and go to the Hampton in Potsdam.

We had very little to choose from beause we made a last minute choice to take our daughter to meet with her potential teacher. Basically we had to choose this hotel because they were the only one with a room. A room that cost us $750 for 2 nights in Potsdam NY. WE recently traveled to Potsdam for our daughters audition. We stayed at the Hapton in Potsdam for 1/2 the cost and everything was better. Food, bedding,, environment. At The Fairfield the breakfasts were really poor. Often had to wait for coffee. At the hampton they had twice as much fresh cooked food, like French Toast sticks, Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Muffins and abundace of coffee. THE FOOD AT FAIRFIELD WAS POOR AT BEST. Muffins were stale, and coffee, when available was weak and it was labeled BOLD. We had to get a room with King bed that was all that was left. We had same problem once before and pull out was great. Not this time. I guess I had high expectations for that amount of money in Canton NY. I was really anticipating being in GREAT HOTEL For that fee
