The only criticisms I have about Bickley Terraces are that (1) the check-out time is not consistent with what Hotels.com specified and what I had agreed on. Hotels.com posts an 11 AM check-out time and Bickley Terraces follows a 10 AM check-out time. When I tried to persuade the manager that I wanted the 11 AM time, as was agreed on in the website, he refused. (2) There was no remote control available for the television set in my room. When I complained about this I was informed that they were waiting on the delivery of the remote control for the television model. I didn't quite believe the manager as universal remote controls exist and are in abundance in many countries.

very affordable
For the money it cost it was surely worth the stay.
Small boutique hotel near the beach but not on the beach in Capetown.
We stayed at the luxury room and the penthouse room.
Luxury room was nice but had issues: two large cockroaches in the room as soon as we walked in, shower drain blocked. Small bathroom but had a kitchen with microwave and refrigerator which we really didn't need.
Penthouse room was large, clean and the bathroom was large as well. Modern furniture. Nice large balcony. Only downside to the small hotel is that the "concierge"/registration is only open to 7PM so when you come to the hotel after that only the security guard is there to let you in.
The A/C in our room was broken when we came back to the penthouse room our second night and we were told "nothing they can do. come back in the morning." It was hot and we did not want to open windows since mosquito season so that was unpleasant. Also, we had a safe in the room but the electronic safe didn't work only to be told as we were checking out that someone should have told us that the safe can be accessed with a key.
We also tried to reach someone in the office during the day (called at least 5 times?) since we knew we would be in after 7PM when office is closed but no one answered the phone.
The breakfast by the pool in the morning was nice. Staff is in the kitchen to take your orders for eggs, etc.
We would consider staying in the penthouse room again.

great location
its very close to the sea, the main street with shops, restaurants and bars. there doesnt seem to be much security though apart from 1 guard. and the bathroom smells funny the first time i arrived. like there is not enough ventilation
The place is nice in Sea Point, and when go to the main road, they have enough supermarket and restaurant. The hotel is a little bit hiding, we spend some time to find it.
My daughter spent her spring break in Cape Town and the hotel had 24 hour security and responded to my e-mail and calls. We are from NYC and I felt secure with her there!
Can't say anything about the main wing but the room we got in the annex was in very poor condition. We stayed in so many nice places during our stay in South Africa so this one is without a doubt our least favorite. The room was small, not finished (shelves hadn't been put up so there were holes in the wall), poor quality to start off and now worse with age. The door to the shower needed to be lifted closed and really looked like it would break at any minute. But hey, if you are after a cheap night the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast looked decent, I wasn't feeling well and they were very kind and made me some oatmeal. The people in the "reception" (some kind of shed outside the building) were less helpful though, they didn't seem very interested in giving tourist advice. The pool was tiny and didn't seem all too clean, no one swam, but it was nice to chill by the water and surf a bit (free wifi).
they blew my mind. Such a great staff, and they even helped us stay another night for a budget rate. Even at their delicious breakfast, they approached us and helped us plan some of our touring. I am positive we will be staying there again. Thanks for helping us indecisive Americans get out and see South Africa!

Good option for Sea Point area of Cape Town
Good location and reasonable prices. Most of the staff are friendly, some not so...
I definitelyrecommend this hotel. The rooms are very comfortable with good quality beds and linen. The 24 hour security is also a major plus point. The security and staff are very friendly and helpfull.
Good location at Sea Point. We stayed at the builduing next to the hotel - it's affordable, nice and clean. Breakfast was good - only the pool didn't look that good for swimming - we couldn't see the bottom of the pool - but there is so much to see in CapeTown that we didn't miss a pool.
Spenderade två veckor på Bickley Terraces, mycket nöjd! Bra frukost, trevlig personal, god service med mera! Mycket bra och säkert läge i Sea Point, nära till allt.

This was such a wonderful find in Cape Town. In a good neighbourhood, Bickley boasted exquisite decor and outstanding service. The stay was so pleasant we didn't want to leave to go back home! I would recommend it the world over and will most certainly be returning soon.
we stayed at bickley guesthouse for a week in a standard double room. the room is comfortable and big enough, with a standard-sized, clean and nicely furnished bathroom. the hotel has a small pool that is sufficient to cool off but too small to swim in.
Breakfast is continental, with the possibility to order eggs etc. on demand.
Hotel staff is very nice and helpful (we had quite a lot of questions concerning tours, car rental etc.).
Sea Point is more quiet than the city center with ok restaurants along the street, mostly fast food joints but also indian and italian restaurants. It is ca. a 5min walk to the coast, as the hotel is located in a residential neighborhood.

Good value
Some maintenance issues. Staff friendly, but sometimes a bit too obtrusive.
Stayed at the cheap side of this guest house which was by no means reflected in the quality of the rooms or service received from staff. Great place to stay when watching you budget, I'm looking forward to upgrade next time I stay there.
We absolutely loved this hotel, the owner and the staff are extremely helpful and always nice! the room was very clean and beautiful.. all in white and very modern. great location, safe and close to the beach, all the major attractions, commercial centers, etc.
The hotel has 2 parts with completely different quality level, but it is not mentioned in the web site. The one where I stayed was not clean and very cold!
I have used only one night and not all the booked days and they charged me for 2 nights!
For a problem of the hotel I cannot pay with credit card and I left my details, after that they where not able to charge me again, but I'm normally using that card!!!??? They wrote me every day to ask me the money and finally I sent the money from a friend of mine.
Very bad relationship!!!
Not suggested!!!
Very happy with the stay at Bickley Terraces. Very safe area. A nice walk down to the waterfront, and easy to catch a roadtaxi to downtown or the nice harbour area. Good, friendly and helpful staff at the hotell. Would love to come back. Carl-Johan
Stayed in the annex building - Noise carries easily, clogged up shower drain that wasn't fixed, poor daily room cleaning & make-up, uncomfortable bed, and problems with double parking of cars. It was ok as a basic place to sleep but nothing at all to write home about.
