"Needs a complete renovation as property is very dated. Many loose tiles around the pool area, poolside bar was never open during spring break week, water is not heated, poolside bathrooms were damaged, and they don’t allow people to sit outside around the pool after dark. The breakfast was bare minimum; bagels, muffins and yogurt at most. Not one staff member out doing any type of landscaping or cleaning any of the common areas. The room had multiple loose/bouncy floor boards, bathroom was cleaned minimally but the beds were surprisingly comfortable. Located across the road from a VERY loud bar with live music past midnight. Would not recommend to anyone with small children or any family. Definitely a cheap spring break college motel. Very disappointed. Never saw any staff besides at front desk during check in and check out. Fix the place up!!!! Has such potential!"

"We were very disappointed with our stay at AC Hotel Clearwater. Given the number of issues, it seems a thorough operational review—especially during peak season—is needed. I would not recommend this property. Check-in took nearly an hour due to the hotel being sold out, with additional delays from incidental holds. The breakfast experience was consistently frustrating. A staff member was repeatedly rude and questioned whether we were entitled to the buffet, despite it being included in our room. This happened multiple days and created unnecessary tension. The lobby/restaurant setup was not functional for a full hotel. While visually appealing, it lacked clear flow, causing confusion for guests and visible stress for staff. Food quality and options were also disappointing, and expectations should be communicated more clearly before charging guests. One of the worst moments was stepping into vomit in the elevator. The front desk said they were aware, yet no caution signage had been placed. This was unacceptable. The rooftop bar was underwhelming with no real view or atmosphere, and the pool deck was overcrowded. Elevators were slow and occasionally malfunctioning. Overall, staff appeared overwhelmed and unsupported, pointing to larger operational issues. While the room, housekeeping, location, and valet service were positives, they did not outweigh the experience. I would not stay here again."

"Mariah from the front desk is an absolute national treasure. Yes the property is older but it’s well maintained and looks like the staff really cares. Beach bar was super convenient but make sure you reserve your chairs early. Pool was also great! Everyone from the staff we ran into were super friendly and welcoming. The only staff complaint I have is the morning male breakfast server we had. Walked up to the table, never said his name just told us eggs were backed up but pancakes were great (ok some humor, no biggie), then proceeded to tell us the next three things we tried to order were out of stock. His humor wasn’t so welcoming in the morning. Overall we would stay here again and again. "

"The housekeeping staff was great and every day our room was swept and mopped fresh made sheets & extra towels. When we arrive for check-in, the first thing I noticed my open my door was a cockroach. I called down to the front desk twice to get someone to come up and kill it and essentially get us a new room and the front desk girl was rude and laughed about it like it was insane that I couldn’t just kill it myself and stay in that room. I believe his name is Nigel at the front desk. He was very apologetic and got us a new room right away although I was so freaked out by how big the bug was we slept at the light on the rest of the week. The restaurant has good food and drink choices. However it takes easily 30 minutes to get a waiters attention outside to get a drink, I had to ask for a drink menu three times and get up and finally get one myself. I was disappointed to not know there wasn’t a hot tub there, but that was my fault when I looked booking. I thought the picture was a hot tub, but it turned out to be a kitty pool. The bartenders were nice and the rest of the hotel staff was friendly. I would definitely say the bathrooms need updated and most of the hotel, especially the restaurant. You could see bugs all over the windowsills and dust all over the blinds so that was kind of gross to look at while you’re eating. "

"Loved the location - could walk everywhere! Cons - the tv was very hard to work. And the Elevator was very slow. The trolley system in Clearwater was easy to navigate - and the beach was beautiful!"
